Highest Ive drained for normaly was 142 lvl 123drk magic.

I can drain up to 90 HP now at level 73 dark magic. Aspir I can drain up to 45 MP. Dunno about MB since I'm too focus on renkei and avoiding certain death

The renkei chain "Darkness" isn't something that's really doable at lower levels... well... you *can*... but it probably won't happen ^^a

Without MB, my Drain has a current record of 252 HP, Aspir at 84 MP

With MB, I've drained an upwards of 312... haven't tried Aspir yet.

Dark chain is particularly devastating on Arcana based monsters, which includes Magic Pots, Golems, Bombs and Weapons. I've fooled around with poltergeists before (running around naked like a n00b on anon) and they constantly freeze up and I have to run back to them and draw aggro =P [msg: Poltergeist is intimidated by Kosy's presence.]

As for a DRK MB, I don't know if I'll ever get to do that. I can ask my party the next time we go out and see what we can do and how I can try it. I must also ask my BLM friend for tips on MB - she's the master of MBs o.O

Oh and btw, I found it particularly delicious on exacting revenge on Dancing Weapons soloing them at 35 ... rawr ^^ Gonna try Evil Weapons tonight ... :B

I am a lv55 drk with dark magic maxed at 184, i have MB drain for 231hp off of a Bark Spider in the boyohda tree. Draining with aspir i havent done (never thought of it). That is something that i really want to try ^("_")^

Just tried MB when I was farming in Delkfutts with a couple of friends the other night at

level 43. Did Backhand Blow + Nightmare Scythe = Gravitation and bursted with Drain/Aspir. I

even did a MB 0 mp drained with aspir once =P MB is fun ... I encourage all to do so

Darkness is a level 3

chain... there's only 2 of them... Light and Darkness... Lightt bursts with Light, Air,

Fire and Thunder, Darkness bursts with Dark, Earth, Water and Ice. ^^

The added MB

damage from drain is fairly useful ^^a I've never really thought of Drain as a

supplimentary source of damage until relatively recently... when I realized that my drain

was doing more damage than my normal hits ^^a Current record for MB'ing drain is at 376,

MB'd aspir's at 124 mp.

tried MB'ing for my first time (My RDM and BLM are used for ghetto warping and it was ditto

in closed and open beta =P) ... I know exactly what a Darkness and Light renkei is =

Banish 2 on transfixtion still does uber damage though. Esp damning on Beetles

because that's one of their weaknesses ...

without blm lol viperbite+shadown with water or blizzard lol

I have

an unresolved question regarding Drain bursting, maybe one of you has an answer.

As a

RDM/BLM who almost never melees in the excellent exp party I've been with for the last 15

or so levels (sup, Kosy!), I rarely take damage during battles. Even when I take aggro for a

moment, blink and stoneskin frequently take care of the damage for me.

Is there any

benefit to bursting Drain for 0 hp? A BLM friend of mine says yes, but I have been unable to

confirm that for myself yet.

Now that I have convert, I sometimes leave myself less

than fully healed so I can use Drain more effectively when I get a chance, in order to

raise my underwhelming dark magic skills closer to where they should be without making it a

total waste of mp.

Any input would be appreciated.

Drain

still does damage, even if you can't gain HP from it. You just don't get to see it. But

it still does damage, so its worth the burst for damage.

189 on a bark spider in Boyahda, and MB for 245 with max darkness (173?) for my level.

Aspir/Drain is tough. First place you can do it is Qufim to my knowledge. You need a Monk

with One Inch Punch. Red Lotus Blade -> One Inch Punch yields Gravitation, while Tachi:

Hobaku -> One Inch Punch yeilds compression. Start casing at about 2 seconds after RLB or

T:H, so that it should hit right after the Renkei goes through
