Finding a PT in Qufim

#1

I am a 20MNK/8THF. I know.. I need to lvl my subjob a little bit. Last night was my first experience trying to find a party in Port Jeuno for Qufim. I literally sat there for over an hour without an invite. I wasn't the only one either. My equipment is all up to date and everything. What is the problem. Does anyone else have this same problem? Maybe it was just a bad night, but damn, should I be expecting this as the norm? Now I see why so many people feel the need for a static pt. What are opinions? Is there another place to lvl without going solo? Thanks.

dont worry about it, ppl can seek for hours
1-dont spam things like "SEEKING INVITE PLZ" (it's annoying
2-try asking party leaders or people you know if you could take the spot of anyone that leaves
3-lvl your subjob to make you /sea stormbringer more appealing because it doesn't matter what your eqt is like most of the time, because people usually just do a /sea ??-??

solo is hard with thief sub. Change it to either rdm or whm to cure. Yesterday nite was bad in general. There was a lack of gamers for some reason. Me (17 WAR) with a lvl 16 WHM took 2 hours to get the PT set up.

In my opinion, start a static party. I am getting one started in Leviathan between my linkies.. it took a lot of organization but we are going to start from the very beginning back to lvl 10 ^^

Maybe not a permanent party.. Get one up to lvl 30 then do those adv quest. In a PT, you must have a tank (PLD), a healer (WHM), a nuker (BLM).. the other three is pretty much up to you. (I went with thief for hate control, drg for trick buddy, and a brd for refreshing)

The trouble is that people don't believe Monks to be a good class at your level. There's this wide-spread misconception among NA players that we simply don't have the goods, which is silly. I personally spent ages waiting in Qufim for a party, but they happened eventually.

Up-to-date equipment is a must. A Warrior support job will make you look more tempting (if not, at least level Thief to 10 for the Evasion Bonus). One problem with Qufim, though, is that the typical prey after level 21 or 22 are crabs and pugils, both of which have high defense and make a Monk's job doubly difficult. Best bet is to either form your own party or just stick with it. It does get better, I promise you.

There are other options for levelling, but unless you're lucky enough to be invited, you'll have to build your own party and head to them.

yea.. I stopped doing /sh .. If they need you, they'll pick you.

Do level your sub. Thief in early level was fun (only part I hate is the 13-15 gap). You can farm easy thing for material to use later in crafting.

Well, I totally disagree with not shouting for a party at that lvl. It's true, at later lvls ppl start finding out about "/sea all" But, up until khazam I would keep shouting. It is annoying, don't spam....but there are a lot of noobs that have a hard time searching for people. When I was a level 20 mnk, I had thf also, and about the time I hit qufim I went and lvld war. It got me a lot more invites and really sets you up for keeping war as your sub. Thf is only a good farming sub for mnks.

Well, I guess I will lvl war then since that is all people want. It won't hurt that I will lvl my thf as well for farming purposes. I will not, however, spam out to join a pt though, no matter how desperate I get! happy.gif
