Thanks Aramir, I hope you turn out to be an awesome Ranger... and end up with that gear in your sig ^^;;.

The quiver tid bit is wonderful. I've seen them listed in AH and have been too intimidated to even meddle with them. Now I'm going to look for the circus and give this quiver thing a shot. ^^ Would I just equip the whole quiver in my Ammo slot?
Also, I used Scavenge and found an old quiver the other day. Any thoughts on what I can do with this?
BTW *Bump* to this thread. It really should be stickied!

Use the Quiver's like food, and you'll drop the total quiver count by 1, and pop a 99 stack of ammo into your inventory. It's a wonderful thing to use, for the short levels you can use quiverable ammo ; ;

Logged on just to say, Please Sticky.
Awesome post I always get annoyed to see so many sticky's for other forums and nothing for Ranger.
P.S. please sticky

Definately needs to be stickied.
Adding a link to the AGI vs. STR thread wouldn't hurt either.

thanks for taking the time to come up with this long overdue thread. Please have this stickied!
i would like to comment on one thing from the guide tho.. for any up and coming ranger, make good use of the link to ffxisomepages for more food information. There are TONS of food for rngs to use from lvls 1-55 that have their own benefits and rewards. While lvling i tried, d.pies, t. salads, boiled pipiras, and a many others. Once you hit higher lvls tho, y.ucrry, c.subs and sushi will be your main diet. But at lower lvls you wont reach the atk cap anyways so experiment with all sorts of goodies..

Thanks you guys...
I added a link to the STR > AGI thread, I hope I got the right one
Either way I grabbed a good one. I also added link to the ENM60 thread, I think everyone should try that out, it's a lot of fun. If you guys want anymore threads linked in here just let me know. =)

Great FAQ Daymion, defenatly worthy of a sticky.
Just something I think that you should add. (It is a theory, no proof of it being true, but I have found it to be VERY accurate myself.) Now, SE won't show us what our ranged attack, ranged acc, and acc, so here it goes. I know many of you would like to know.
Anyways, threw my own personal experiments, I believe to find your base Ratt= Archery/Marksmenship lvl + (Base STR/2) for example: 75RNG/37NIN Elvaan STR is (67/2) + 269 = 302.5 I know this seems low, but apparently, your base attack INCLUDES gear, and not +% as you see on food, and on that note, +% Ratt from food is off your base Ratt, which includes gear (+23ratt on Ebow for example.) Now with this lvl 75RNG, lets say he has +75 Ratt on his gear and he uses Yellow Curry. His +Ratt from food would be 377x.32 = +121, Now from your base attack, your gear, and now your food, you have 498~ Ratt.
Now, from what people believe, and has not been proven. 2AGI = 1Racc, so using this theory, you can find out your Racc (quite simular to the Ratt method). Archery/Marksmenship lvl + (Base AGI/2). An example: 75RNG/37NIN Mithra AGI is (78/2) + 269 = 308 Base Racc. Now, just like Ratt, Racc gear IS part of your base Racc. So, lets say she has +80 Racc on her gear, thus giving her 388 base. With Sushi, it would be 388x.16 = +62 Racc giving her 450 base Racc. Also RNG gets 4 Accuracy bonus's(Racc and Acc) Each having 10 racc/acc trait bonuses. (Lv10 Bonus #1, Lv30 #2, Lv50 #3, Lv70 #4) So now really, this Mithra has 490 Base Racc.
Unfortunatly enough, you cant use +racc food AND +ratt food. So many will choose one or the other, I'd like to point out the stats you could have using either of the two types. Now on my server, Sole Sushi is 40k/stack and Yellow curry is 7k 6hrs using both foods = 14k vs 40k, but we wont let prices get in the way. Now, I'm going to point out 2 different set ups, (They are on the higher end of the scale, but not absolutly impossible to obtain. Please don't argue with me on this like: Not every RNG has XXXX item because we know that any RNG that puts in the time can obtain anything, or this item sucks vs HNM or this item sucks for EXP. I'm symply comparing 2 different set ups using 2 different foods.) As we know, post lv.70, Sushi users start to stack on +STR and Ratt items, and sacrifice Racc in their gear. A Curry user would try to find as much Racc gear they can find, but will still look for STR and Ratt gear in spots where they can not get Racc.(It's all up to preference on how much STR and Ratt you think XX Racc is worth in ratio.)
Now, this is a very well equiped HUME(Since they are avg in stats compaired to other races, other races could use different gear to equal out what they lack, or Strengthen what they have etc.) Sole sushi user. (Not listing all of the stats, but the stats that would make a RNG buy/obtain this item for.)

STR+50
AGI+30
Ratt+50
Racc+31
The Hume's STR is 62+50 = (112/2)+269 = 324+50 = 374~ Base Ratt.
AGI is 73+30 = (103/2)+269 = 320+31 = 351x.16(from sushi) = 351+56(from sushi) : 407+40(From Job Traits) This Hume would end up with roughly 447~ Racc.
Now for our Hume Yellow Curry user.

STR+31
AGI+32
Ratt+43
Racc+83
This Hume's STR is 62+31 = (93/2)+269 = 315+43(from gear) 358x.32=114(from food) = 472~ ratt.
His AGI is 73+31 = (104/2)+269 = 321+83(from gear) 404+40(from traits) would have this hume around 444~ Racc.
That being said, the differences between the 2 set ups are:
19- STR (Sushi wins)
2- AGI (Curry wins)
98- Ratt (Curry wins)
3- Racc (Sushi wins)
As I said before, this is my THEORY, this is what I look at when I choose my gear, and my food. You can say that there is no way these numbers are true, and that it can not be proved, because it can't. This is what I came up with in all of my experiments I have done.
Also between the two set ups, you can tweak, change, alter what ever you like, but those are the set ups I see doing the best damage using the two foods, and showing what my theory comes up with between the two.
As everyone knows, if you can not hit the mob, you need more Racc, weather it is in gear or food. Hell, if your fighting something that you can't hit with 447 Racc or 443 Racc, you could combine the two to your liking. It's all Preference.
If I get positive feed back from this post, Daymion please add this into your post somehow because I believe if you use this theory, it would help new/unknowledgable RNGs decide in the nessesities in gear, and food.
Sticky this thread god damn it!
Please do try and look at the math, it makes so much sense and its not hard math, although I'm sure I screwed up somewhere.
Sorry for any spelling/mathmatical errors.

Thanks for the compliments guys and the bumps, keep that up if you can ^^, it was almost dead then Defunkt {Raise}d it. And thats a very nice theory on Racc and Ratt Antura, I'm curious what others think about it. Definately the best attempt I've seen at figuring out the numbers since freaking SE won't display it for us.
One point I'd like to make is that I see Ratt food users go a lil overboard with trying to compensate for Racc, you have to remember your food is based off a % value and not just a set number.
