I think she has every right to be annoyed... I don't consider this actual happening a case of sexual harrasement. But, it can be annoying. It almost reminds you of studying irl and someone going *poke* *poke* *poke*. The difference is you can turn around and slap the **** out of them.

Ok, I'm not trying to downplay anything, flame anyone or say anything bad about the entire situation. I just honestly don't understand and want someone to help explain to me something.

What I don't get is how can people react in such a way to people being stupid/immature/harassing on the internet. I mean once you turn that switch off you're not gonna see that person, hear that person, interact with that person in RL hence that person has no relevancy to your RL. Once the game is gone that person will be no more. That person is not gonna hold you back to be CEO of a company, they're not gonna give you bad grades, they're not gonna fire you, or give you money or whatever else that's more important in RL.

That's what I don't understand. These people who are causing people problems in the game doesn't matter in your RL so I don't understand how people can get upset over these people? Couldn't people just ignore them and move on in their merry way and just not pay attention to these people?

I'm not trying to be incensitive because I still treat people in the game with respect and firmly believe that you treat others the way you wanna be treated (which in my case is friendly/respectful manner). But to react to someone not respecting you in a game is just beyond me and I don't understand it.

Spellbinder, i know where you're coming from and agree with you on the most part but this game is a way to unwind from RL. (at least for me) Like after i come back from work, school or just doing whatever like everyone else, i want to have fun and relax but its impossible to do so when you have immature/iggnorant people annoying you when you're just trying to have fun. Its normal to get some stress with like that.

I get harassed plenty enough at work, but at least I'm getting paid to be harassed there

I agree, but what I don't understand is couldn't people just blist or plain out ignore those who are "humping" you? Is it really that hard just to do your merry thing and not think about it? I mean just imagine that taru like a fly and just move on. Its not like that taru humping ya can do anything bad other then move his character around. I guess my question is, "Is it really that hard to ignore someone?"

Personally, I think you're taking this to seriously. Yes, it's annoying, but if you're actually having trouble working because someone was doing something to you in the game, you need to take a break.

And trust me, I've dealt with it all. I honestly doubt you've ever had any marriage proposals or offers for gil to cyber. I've been given flowers, had people RP alot of stuff(though this is actually pretty funny if they do it well), had the /em touches Shamgi's leg, all of that.

Just ignore it. Most people that do this are looking for a response, they want you to get angry, they want you to do stuff like that. Just ignore them.

Why is it that male Tarutaru players feel the urge to hump everything and everyone in sight?

I was minding my own busines, partying in CN with a pretty good group, when a player from another party, Locaste, started hanging around. After a while, he began to stand behind my character and spam the "welcome" emote, which we all know give the appearance of a tarutaru humping something. Yeah.

I asked him to stop in a /tell, but he continued on. And then he got what I can only presume was a fellow party member or a friend, Demiscellaneous, to join in harassing me.

At this point I was so upset I called a GM for the very first time in my life. This kind of thing is funny as a joke between friends, but certainly not OUT IN THE FIELD when a white mage is trying to do her ****ing job without any distractions. Hello??? I have to pay close attention to the text log and my party's health? I don't NEED to see my poor character getting raped before my eyes!

The GM Allidan was very friendly and apologized for any offense I took, and gave me the standard "we will investigate the matter further." Since I have a screenshot of Demi humping me, with Locaste in the background behind my party, I do have concrete evidence. I believe the GM sent tells to Locaste and Demiscellaneous asking them about the incident, because they stopped shortly thereafter. I'm sure they denied it

I was so angry I was shaking, and I had to leave work early today because I couldn't even concentrate. This **** isn't funny. It's not a joke. It's a violation of the ToS, a violation of my personal space, and worst of all, prevents me from participating in a party at 100% efficiency. I've been nauseous and upset ever since.

Naturally these two have been blacklisted.

It's funny to you. It's funny to me -- under the right circumtances. It's funny as hell when it's happening to someone other than a female tarutaru, especially a male hume's leg. It's terribly funny in the middle of Lower Jeuno in the line for the AH. It's fantastically funny if it's two tarutarus engaged in a sort of mutual cybering in a corner somewhere.

It's not funny when someone is in the middle of an experience party and has asked you nicely to stop and instead of heeding her wishes and going and humping someone else, you ask a friend to join you. THAT is harassment.

Oh, and don't worry, I'm a veteran fanfiction author. I've got asbestos skin. That was a very weak flame, so no hard feelings. (Here's a lovely real flame I got once. Hehehe.)
