So what do you guys think about the guide? Good? Bad? Need's a FAQ (for people that randomly come in)?

/sigh
I asked a relevant question, not a random. Where can you start making a profit in the craft on a craft guide subject. Yeah, real random.
Bakri, your guide is good. I definetly would have done some of the things differently for the lower levels if I had seen this guide beforehand, I made some pretty heavy losses doing the first 20.
(Btw, before I get anymore flames, me would have done things differently means I compliment his guide, and wish I had seen it earlier)

you would prolly need a faq to explain where the information is on your first page....
So what do you guys think about the guide? Good? Bad? Need's a FAQ (for people that randomly come in)?
you will also need a faq that has a SECOND even better goldsmithing guide, and because people are to dense your going to need a THIRD goldsmithing guide FAQ for the SECOND faq goldsmithing guide that explains the first...
or you can give up, and just say "your all idiots"...
which is what i do :yes
you should also bolden important money making secrets so the noobs know where to look, and put a disclaimer in 30 font explaining this is server based and varies.... in bolt font, of course...
also need to see your credentials, as people will not believe you, and will call you an idiot for not being able to find out how to make teh leet moonys from your guide, and they will question your intellegence and ask stupid questions...

It's a good guide. Not the path I followed, but then, if everyone did the same synths, life would be pretty dull and VERY expensive.
Just a few comments:
- I'd start with copper despite the number of brass ingots you'll need later. You may also want copper ingots later--they're useful for hairpins, rings, sabiki rigs, and lower-level spark items. Also, copper is so damned cheap!
- It's i-n-g-o-t, not i-g-n-o-t.
- You can, with some effort, avoid touching gold until level 67. It's tough, it requires a lot of mythril sheets, and it helps to have a lot of conquest points, but you can do it. There isn't a lot of profit to be made, but the initial expenditure is a lot less. You might want to mention some of these items (heater shields, mythril armor pieces) in your guide.
- Aspiring goldsmiths should look for higher-level goldsmiths to "apprentice" them. Many high-level goldsmiths go through a ton of mythril, gold, and platinum rings and earrings either for profit or for skill and are looking for good prices in bulk on those items. It'll save you Jeuno tax, it'll keep your AH slots from being taken up with seven of the same thing, it'll clear stuff out of your inventory, and it'll benefit both partners in the arrangement. Networking is VERY important to crafters.

- I did copper myself but that was before fire crystals were 5k a stack so do you really want to spend 300-500 gil to make something that cost 120 gil in materials?
- ignot, ingot does it matter? It's still a gay name and odd to pronounce. Should have called them bars.
- In this guide I was looking for the least fail cost loss. That's why I steered clear of Morion Earrings.
- YES you can make money 1-100 without ever selling anything all you got to do is buy all the silver ores like an ass hole (or elm logs for that matter) then put it in your bazaar for 500g and go to sleep. Then gil will MAGICALLY appear in your pockets out of nowhere. If you do this you can get to 100 goldsmithing in about 250 years if you sold every single silver ore from stock every hour. (Honestly, why are you posting such stupid things? I'm going to hit you with a hammer until you look like stroper chyme then put you in Ordelles Caves for gil sellers to rape you if you don't stop)

Just a few suffestions to add to the guide.
Mythril Rings are an alternative in the 40s depending on your server economy. Also, Orichalcum Rings are a lvl 93 synth. I'm assuming 2 ingots would be needed. I'm sure some could skill on these and save them for the Elemental bead rings.

Leathlord great guide and keep up the good work. Dont let anyone get you down...your hard work and dedication helped me out so much that I joined this site just to tell you thanks. It's never good when people show up to a thread expecting more when you have apparently allready done so much for no reason other than to help us out.
And bakerbean your just a joke son...a lil kid that gives alot of ffxi players the bad rep that we dont want

I like the estimated costs per level! Assuming every server has different economies, those estimates would be a bit off. Anyhoots, I'm 56.9 GS and spent under 14m on it. The sad parts were doing the dumb ass things to get there. Way to waste gil skilling up! /em slaps himself. (Didn't know there was a jewelry shop in Lower Jeuno till I was around lvl 30 Orz).
Thanks to Semitry how helping me through the way... I estimate that I will get to 58 with another million or so and cap out on Mythril Cuisses at 61 with another 3m...

Thanks for the compliments.
Dethsbane: I suggest stopping the mythril cuisses at 58 due to the fact you can make items that costs less to make around that level. Such as Hydro Patas. I also know I mentioned to do platnium in the guide but nuggets are the hardest sythesis of an ingot so you should stay away from them until your at about 62 if your going to do them. Also if your going to use them for profit only do nuggets because alot of people are gardening (and so far they are being generous with their prices) and alot of people are mining especially gil sellers raising ore prices like a mofo. On my server the cost of two platnium ores equats to 1 platnium ore and 6 nuggets.
Shinirei: Thanks. I figured I couldn't get anyone to make one so I should might as well make one myself and then have people improve upon it.
Fatale: Yes mythril rings are an option but alot of this was in relation with my server. Mythril ingots go for 8-10k on my server each and the rings go for about 10k if your lucky on the AH. So you would be doubling your losses. Rings are usually a lose on my server. So I would suggest doing the Jeweled Platnium Rings until 75. Spinels are at about 60 to 70k right now on my server and the platnium rings are about an ingot and a half of the price to make a ring. The most investment and time spent is in the final levels of 90+. If you want to take it really really slow. I would level up the subcrafts while slowing leveling with rings and selling them in AH. Then you can make profit while waiting for the rings to sell.

If you're planning to take goldsmithing past 60, it's a good idea to make Platinum Ingots at 58 and keep them to turn into Platinum Rings. And if you have the space, save as many platinum rings as you can. You won't regret it.

interesting fact: on Asura, when i levelled goldsmithing, silver ore was ~400 in the AH, stacks of ingots would sell between 20-25k(this was a pretty long time ago). today, i checked, silver ore still sells for 400~500, and silver ingots are 50k per stack.
