After reading this again, I noticed that I never thought about Mythril Cuisses before, and look to be a decent alternative to getting to 58 in GOLD and thus a short leap to 60 to cap out gold^^ Gonna need to make sure I sell off all of my jeuno mule's shyt first I suppose since I wont overload the AH with these.

I was was watching some higher level goldsmithers skilling last night, a number of them were making gold patas and some kind of glove that uses a gold ingot as well.
I'm going to try and push to the mid 30s tonight, i'm at 28.4 right now, probably going to hammer out alot of hiraishin and gem rings tonight. I'm hoping I can at least get the rock back from breaking down the rings during the ring skillup phase maybe 1 out of 4 times instead of using up one of my mules to hold them and sell em off at 1k each.
I totally lucked out yesterday and was able to turn in some leftover silver hairpins for guildpoints instead of busting them hoping for ingots back.

They don't sell on my server. Best bet to try to desynth for materials or to NPC them for about 3400 each. Not a total loss, about the price of the Ram leather. I try to save them till Lightningsday then I desynth them, make Mythril sheets out of ingots on Lightsday, skill up again on Darksday.

I'd NPC them they only go for like 5k at AH and 3568 at vendor or so. I suggest making ur own sheets since the sheets are usually about 10k higher than ignots. If you can hunt/make ur own leather.

I made a few spark daggers and silver masks and stashed them away for guildpoint days. I've parked a mule with certain guildpoint items next to the turn-in npc and found its not a bad way to sell things for a profit.
I had a good run of skillups to 36 and had pretty good success with mithril ore now, so i'm avoiding beastcoins because theyre more costly and I strangely fail them more than Ore :O_o when I tried a couple stacks.
I did alittle mining in oldton movapolos and went on a moblin/goblin killfest too - nice place to scrounge up various crafting materials.
Mithril ingots and sheets are break even at best looking at current prices, even with mithril ore flying off the auction house shelf as soon as its posted.

Wait til you hit 50. It's like a huge put in the ground 50-70 that you got to fil with gil.

I had alot of luck with moblin desynths to gold ingots and getting gold/plat ores last night from mining.
Its really hard to sell these off because I know i'm going to need them in the future for skilling but i'd rather reserve all my mule space to hold guildpoint items that i skill on.
Not enough mithril ore on this server to level that quick, I can see it being slow getting to the mid40s just because of that.
I've got over 2 stacks of mithril ingots on hand, still sitting on them due to mithril ore availability and the fact i probably want to make these into mithril sheets in the future.
Your guide says to start sheets at 38, but ingots from ore caps at 40 - is that because the number of synths needed to get the last 1-2 points to the cap tends to be really slow? I have a gut feeling i need way more ingots than i do now and should probably just make them to 39 at least, then do 39-41 on sheets to minimize failures.
I'm up to 5 mules just to hold all the various smithing/goldsmith ingots and sheets and synths so far :O_o lol , a 2nd account to make inventory management quicker is a lifesaver. I'd recommend it highly for any serious crafter.

You won't see any reduction in breakage from 38-41 on sheets. Use adv synth support, of course.
The reason I did coins and then went straight to sheets was convenience. It's a real pain gathering 4 ores per synth when you can just buy a stack of ingots, crank them into sheets, and sell in a stack at a slight profit.

Yeah I pretty much live in bastok now because I refuse to synth anything without Adv support
(I never believed in regular support because I always was a bit aggressive with my skill gap leveling cloth up)
I'm being a cheapskate and sticking with ore (8400gil roughly to make an ingot compared to 10k-14000 if i go the coin route which adds up) so i'm saving myself about 10k an ingot stack which isn't that huge but it make the rare crit fail painless if it happens. I only bought mith coins if i could get them at the ore price - i'm doing pretty well at restraining myself from paying more than that even if I come up one ore/coin short of a combine (just stash materials on mule and check other AH/synth/mine).
I totally cleaned out someones mule with mithril ores on it this morning but didnt get a chance to synth them before work, i'll give sheets a try when I pass 38 tonight .
I'm so excited lol :boing time to take the next rank test!
(i'll be sobbing in the corner next week if i get to the gold stage by then lol)

Tip: Stockpile as many Mythril Ingots/Silver Ingots as you can for later use... Desynth Mythril/Silver Earrings when in their cap range... trying afterwards you'll notice a huge drop in success rates. I went from success & HQ everytime to barely 50% after leveling past 50... Also, start learning to garden may help you get through the platinum stage fairly painlessly.

Is this worth every gil? I mean what lvl can you start making good money? I believe this is a good craft but when do you make the money to support your good armor and weapons? If I come back on most likely I will join GoldSmithing. If you can make decent money in the first 10 lvls or what not dont waist time farming just make the items till you have enough gil then lvl rigt?

Armyofone-It depends how close you are to the cap. As you get higher go from Adv Support - Support and then from Support - No Support.
Ferball-You can make gil at all levels as long as you get your own materials.

ive been leveling gold for a while now, its not quite 60 yet, but im thinkin im going to take it to 60, then level smithing.
GS to 100 is pretty costly and high level smithers are hard to find.

Bakri- I mean, when is it that you make the good stuff when you lvl up goldsmithing? that earns you decent profit. Uh put it this way if I want to save money up for a 2million armor piece, what is the best way to go for Goldsmithing? If that make's sense?

You can make profit in a number of tradeskills doing material combines that higher level crafters dont want to waste their time doing (ingots into sheets, threads into cloths, etc). The profit tends to be 5-10k a stack, sometimes more but if you time posting your wares to the auction house when theres a full or new moon it sells quickly.
Its not glamourous making silver/mithril ingots/sheets but it helps fund your own skillups. If you're vigilant about camping the guilds/auction houses and scouring bazaars for deals you can make good money.
Most people would call me nuts for mining to help me raise goldsmithing up but i've got mules loaded with all kinds of ingots from desynth/synths as i mine - i managed to get 13 gold ingots made over the weekend and turned them into 6 earrings making over 1million. I also had a nice streak carving rocks last night since im 31 over the cap on those now, hq'd 5 times in a row on green rocks.
When guildpoint items come up I can fall back on my ingot stash to make whatever I can't buy cheap from npc/AH.
Its all about patience really after 50, I made 12 hydro claws last night for only .4 skill which cost me over 200k to make.
I'm only into making money to the extent it allows me to keep skilling, not buy crap like a kraken club
For the people that want to jump into a craft and expect the gil to come flying in so they can buy some crazy expensive item in the next month or so, I think you'll be sorely disappointed.

i agree with navia. i'm a lv 73 Gs and i have made little or no money at all. i make more money farming then with this craft, the only reason why i do GS is because i want to make my own Hq signed rings and earrings, and the fact that there are limited GS over lv 60 on my sever i take up GS to help the people. but yea... i have heard you won't make good money intill your lv 83+ anyway and btw it took me 9mil to get to lv 73 from lv 28 (lv’s 0-28 is basically free if you mine your materials, sell what you don’t need, and buy from the guild what you do). rizzo (high lv NA goldsmither on my sever 100+3) has told me it will cost twice that to get from 70-80, just for those 10 lv's. i like a decent challenge and once again i'm really not in it for the money i'm mostly in it because i just want to be that guy NA players can come to and ask for something only obtained from a high GS lv, basically i’m doing it for the people lol…. come on show me some love
