Always hearing about the drawbacks to the crafting system. Some people hate that it'll cost you an arm, a leg, your first born, your soul, AND a second mortage on your house, all just to get to 100 craft. Others hate how hard it is to find a trustable crafter to make that oh so rare item.

I personally think it all balances in a fashion. Pay through the ear to get to 100, but then you get to charge what's fair for whatever you want to make.

And imoho, there's nothing better than a friend coming to you for a synth, and you pull out a HQ, and suddenly, for a short time, you are their hero. I just wish I could take all my crafts to 100.

So...what's your opinion on crafting? Or especially, what do you think of FFXI's crafting system in comparison to other games?

I think...that bonecraftng sucks. It takes about 50 synths to gain a level on it now, sometimes more. And, when you lose money every synth, it really sucks.

I didn't like smithing, cuz mining is more boring than farming.
I may eventually try fishing since they changed it, but I'm
gonna wait till the fishing craze is over to get going on it.

I just wish SE didn't nerf the HQ rate. It really hurt crafters. It's kind of hard to HQ stuff even craft lv is like 40 lv higher. But maybe it's their way to against craftbot. Craftbots are getting common in each major city. In sandy, you can see some people craft shihei nonstop 24/7 and some people craft ammo nonstop in Jeuno. And also new fishbot fish black sole in port jeuno. So botting really hurt people who are interested in crafting and the way SE react hurt crafters even more :dontgetit

I like crafting...kinda fun. I hate those HQ synths that give you nothing >.< Go ahead, HQ some melon juice...you still only get melon juice. Not even two juices. While I'm at it, SE never heard of juice boxes? Make that $h1t stackable damnit!

im 61. 7 cloth and its fun only thing i hate is the recipes, some suck major ass and the GUILD POINTS... that sucks ass, u get like 2k at most a day and sometimes the item is sooo bad... ><

What I hate about the GP system is the unbalanced cost of some items. I cringe on some of the GP items, like maple harp for instance. Gotta turn in like 118 maple harps for 1685 GP. Uh...screw that...

Then again, some others rock, like getting 400 points for a Holly Staff, which costs like...700 gil?

But yeah, again i hate only getting to do one. I'd love to just have all GPs open, and just turn in stuff as I can. I'd rather slowly accumulate points then make it an all or nothing attention driven ordeal.

When I did sheep leather at a lower level for income I'd always be so joyed at getting a HQ... til I realized I'm still not gaining anything... >.> Way to get me excited over nothing.

Do you see my sig, I actaully wear this shit 95% of my game time. I've sucked LS members D888's for gil just to lvl my crafts. So, yeah, I'd have to say I'm addicted. As soon as I get 100 Woodworking I'm going to make a mule named "Wishyouhadone" Just for the sake of lvling gold to 100 and HQing insane shit with that sig on it ^^. May also lvl another mule to 100 bone and 60 leather just to HQ a SH with my name on it.
