Leveling Guide for BST

Hello all;

I have several jobs over 30 and Samurai level 62. By no means am I a noob, but I have some questions about leveling with beastmaster.

I did not start yet but, was thinking of doing beastmaster at least to level 40 to use at BCNM or even taking it to 60, just not sure yet tho.

1)Whm is the best and only viable sub? Y/N
2)What about RDM?
3)Do I absolutely need astral rings?
4)How does the leveling work? What do I need to do as a rule of thumb, where should I go at what level?
5)BST in Party: When should I start getting parties? Should I solo all the way?
6)Is leveling BST very slow, very fast, or what tempo do you say?

Thanks I hope someone can answer these questions. I am going to retire as Samurai and find another job to take all the way. Beastmaster may just be it.

1.) My BST/RDM works fine for me. I usually sit to heal while my pet is fighting anyways.

3.) I would think not, I'd got for CHR+ rings

4.) Stick with charming toughs until you get the ability to gauge wheter or not a beast can be charmed. You get a exp drop from the mob, lyou end up with something like 75% of the exp (somethign like that)

5.) BST work ok in PTs for damage dealers SOMETIMES, depends on teh place and all. You are probably better off soloing though.

6.) very SLOW

well samurais have hard luck finding PTs, as do all melee jobs.

Level samurai, dragoon, or dark knight to 60 and see how many less invites u get when u arent a bard or white mage.

Okay first of all if you’re not a high level samurai then stop making opinions about this and that.

Secondly, this is a Beastmaster forum and a Beastmaster topic.

Thirdly, the patch only helped us a little bit. Sure we get more TP then the others but its always been like that even without the patch. Fact is that Samurai is getting old to me.. Point Blank

Finally, if you havent played Sam pre and post path then your not in the position to make statements on how powerful or lack there of Samurai is or is not.!

people are going to get off topic from time to time, there have been posts to answer your questions if you wanna be all pissy because people shared their opinions on samurai then dont post on forums.
