[sea][sea]Since /SAM is one of my favorite in 60 cap, ill go ahead and post that, still working on movies, give me some time.[/sea][/sea]
[red]60 cap ballista as dragoon/samurai - Fondle your inner strength[/red]
first off, pack DEF. Phalynx rings, ect. best you can get in DEF. Comence the beatdown.
*Important* Call Him/Her dirty names. they love it when you do that.

MNK will pop dodge to gain a foothold against you. With a GK lance, Mermans gorget, and Life belt, you will be fine. If you happen to have a scorp harness, this will be a easy fight. After your TP reaches about 50%, Use meditate, gain 100% and quickly TP, jump, then high jump. This will bring him to about near death and close to TP range. He will most likely use chakara, gain about 100-200 life. This will set ya back some, but you will still be in the lead. You will know when his TP attack is comming, cause you will see Boost, Focus, Berserk. Boost is a dead give away of a raging fist comming. soon as you see this, use third eye. If u do not dodge this, your going to be suffering a 400-500 damage attack. This should not kill you, but get you within the "Oh ****, this is a close match, i might lose ... fuk... " range.
This should be a good way to win, but rember, this is only a strategy, dont think for certain your going to win. **** happens. But this should give you a decent guide line to what will happen.

There are 3 subs widely prefered by DRKs in 60 cap:
NIN, WAR, and SAM
No matter though, its still a pretty predictible fight. For majority reasons, ill pretend the DRK your fighting is /war. The smart DRKs will start off the fight by bio IIing you and trying to asorb your dex or str or vit. These are the only spells you need to worry about interrupting (asorbs - including drain). Save your jumps for it.You and the DRK will find that you deal roughly the same amount of damage, depending on equip. Once you hit about 40% TP, use meditate. Soon as you have that tp, use it. This should bring DRK below half life, and the DRK will not attempt to drain you. Those jumps you were saving, use at all cost to stop him/her. After one hit, penta, and two jumps you should be at about 50%+ TP, and him/her at about 70% give or take due to spell casting time. Once you see the DRK use Souleater+Last resort + berserk, pop that third eye, cause a very powerfull weapon skill is commin. If you did this right, you have this fight no sweat at all, if not, you will suffer heavy damage, and be in a crittical life zone. Finish the job by swinging once or twice more, and tp if you have.

Majority of SAM will sub rng for sidewinder, so your gonna have fun with this. Make sure both of you start off with no TP, if he has any, it could cost you the win. The sam will first start off with a meditate + barrage, soon as he has that TP, here comes the first sidewinder. I recomend timing it perfectly, learning how long it takes to get 100% tp with your sam. I found that after the second swing and this popped before swing, he has TP and is ready to go with it. Pop third eye and hope he hits nothin. If not, hit him, jump, high jump, meditate. He will problably pop third eye and think you have TP and are about to use, so swing once after. He will try to shoot you with his bow and arrow that has barrage already active, and will give him alot of TP. As soon as you see him **** back his bow, super jump. This should piss him/her off more than anything, and buy you a little more time. You both will be at 50% tp at this time, give or take. But if his barrage hits you, he will gain alot of extra tp and have a huge lead.If your meditate is back up, use now, dodge his barrage. Continue swinging, both of you will be low on life if his TP attack hit you, so be cautious here.Soon as you get TP, dont stop for nothing, use it. If you get off penta before he can do anything, you have him beat. If not, he could have a sidewinder commin your way and its very hard to live from two sidewinders. Not that im saying its impossible, just incredibly hard.
[green]I hope these helped, ill do my best to get some fraps up and running soon, just need someone to host them :. Peace guys, keep up the good work.[/green]

Sam has the advantage of thrid eye and 2 WS/fight.
He totally pwned me in the first fight, because I had none of my Acc gear on, and he was wearing a SH. I literally missed 2/5 swings.
I'm still tweaking my Acc/Def/Str balance for ballista. it's difficult because swap macros are out of the question
Edit: I forgot to mention, he has a lot more experience in Ballista than I do (I'm learning fast though ^_~) I have easily killed some Drg/Sams in Ballista, but it's usually; close, Item dependant, or I have TP to start.
(and none of them Use Drg/Sam as well as Urban ^^)
