Seriously, wtf? I don't have an xbox or gamecube or whatever, but I was at best buy yesterday messin around on them little gaming machines you can play featured games on... and one of the games I played for awhile was this Call Of Duty game, I'm guessing in this game you're some marine chick named Tonya and you're trying to follow this guy around and snipe soldiers from windows and stuff...

Ok... sweet. Sounds fun. Well, it would be if you could a. figure out the controls, b. NOT have to use a controller to play the game. Seriously, how do games like HALO and CALL OF DUTY work? I sat there for about 20 minutes just trying to figure out how the hell to control the thing lol. Seriously, these kinda games need mouse and keyboard, i dont care who ya are.. it's freakin ridiculous.

Only FPS game I ever was able to control worth a diddly on a console was Goldeneye on N64, simply because the game is so simplistic to begin with.

But these new console FPS's man...It's like, you use one stick to move around the other stick to like aim around and meanwhile you still gotta mash all these other buttons to stand up lay down sit shoot fire, bash people with the butt of the sniper rifle or whatever.. crazy all at the same time with the precision of a steamroller>.>

The game seemed pretty cool... but that kinda game has to be played on a PC, no ands ifs or butts about it.

I actually like Halo/Halo 2's control scheme. It might take some getting used to, but it's pretty good after you get the hang of it. One analog stick controls camera and one controls movement. And the right trigger shoots. That's pretty much it besides buttons for grenades, switching weapons, punching, etc.

Speaking of which, on that call of duty thing... I never did find the button for running or changing weapons, let alone tossing gredades or throwin punches...

Halo1&2 controls are easy. I'm a lot better at console FPS than i am on PC FPS. I hate using the Mouse. I barely use the mouse for FFXI.

i dont think anyone uses the mouse in FFXI, there's horrendously no point ^^

i am exactly the opposite. after palying years of counter-strike i went back to play some goldeneye, my god i hate using contollers for fps. mouse and keyboard all right!

I remember when QuakeIII came out on dreamcast, and they allowed them to play with PC users. I felt very badly for them

As said before, HALO controls are very easy to learn. In fact, most FPS's nowadays pretty much copy HALO's control scheme, almost completely.

PC FPS games are my faaaavorite, i love the precision and speed that you can get by using a mouse to aim

FPS games on the XBOX are pretty simple, because the controller is well laid out for it. On the PS2, I can't stand FPS games. But, I think the 'joysticks' are poorly placed on the Dualshock/2. I've never played an FPS on the GC because, well, I don't like the GC. With the exception of Halo/2 (But only with the look sensitivity on the highest setting) I prefer PC FPS games. I love my mouse.
