well im hoping to become a dragoon after the game comes out on ps2 but i wanted to ask a few questions.. 1) are dragoons overpopulated?? 2) of hume or elvaan which should i choose and 3) is ther significantly more elvaan dragoons than hume dragoons. ive been really thinkin about being an elvaan because i dont think ill ever want to be a mage really. but my friend said that there are ALOT of high level elvaan dragoons on the cereberus server

No, I know that they arent mainly because of how demanding the quest is to get the job in the first place, you have to get a Dragon Egg, so you have to do all this stuff, then you have to kill a dragon in order to get the egg...its a pain in the ass.

Dragoon is fun as heck... and I'm sure you wanna be DRG for the fun factor... so do it...

as for race... again... be what you want... regaurdless of stats... you wanna be a Taru... DRG... wicked... go for it... you wanna be a Galka SMN... go for it...

but... ya... Elvaan DRG is nice I'd go Elvaan DRG over HUME... (as I already have) :sly

The jobs that I think suitable for galkas... MNK, WAR, PLD, DRG... and maybe THF, NIN, SAM.

So I wanna be a DRG... and a PLD.... and play either one when I feel like it

Partied with a WHM galka in dunes when i was MNK 15, he died multiple times... not a good job choice for a galka...

But still, I saw an elvaan DRG and a Taru DRG wearing full AF armor for DRG in Jeuno walking slowly side by side... looked like father and son :boing:boing especially because they have pointed ears and their faces are covered.

1) yes dragoons are overpopulated a bit by noobs since they like dragons or something but that doesnt matter, people will distinguish the best ones from the worst and they are a good job so go ahead and pick them

2) either is fine but hume males look wierd I M O

3) probably more elvaan but hume 2nd most

imo best dragoons are taru, since they look cool when they jump, look cool with spears, and look cool in AF the game is all about looking cool if you look uncool you LOSE

I went Mithra for the insane DEX-- I don't miss much at all at my level compared to other races. Sure, don't have the best STR, but there is food that makes up for it, and is hella cheap compared to DEX up food.

But I agree full out, Hume DRG look pretty damn silly in AF >< I'm so sorry but with the butt wiggle run they have... o_o;

I believe if you are unsure what class you wanna be, pick a human to start off. They are well rounded in all classes.

I have an elvaan DRG. I think Mithra might be better but I have never tried. I hear they have best DEX, which is what you need if you want more accuracy. They have less hp and less str, meaning they hit less.

Theres a ton of Dragoon's on Ifrit, but it goes like this. Once they get tired of the job, they'll leave. Its not easy to obtain without friends, and quite frankly its not the easiest job to play. Timing jumps, (Super Jump right after Penta Thrust to erase the hate) is key. Anywho, Hume or Elvaan it doesn't matter in the end. Elvaan have higher STR, and I believe Hume's have higher DEX than them. More damage and hit less, or hit more for less damage. By the by, Hume's look cooler than the damn Elvaan. Elvaan are so lanky and goofy looking... Like Gralka and their skinny legs, or Taru's and our massive heads. Its really prefference on what kinda silly you want. Hume's apparently walk funny... I guess Mithra are the only non silly race... Well... Non silly in appearance. The fact that 90% are played by males is sorta creepy.

[Well. anyone wants to know what race? humans is not. they`re average on everything. Not even galkans. they have high VIT. but not enough STR. Dragoons are damage dealers. Which means that you should choose elvaan instead of galkas. Elvaans got more STR than galkas. but galkas got more VIT. But who cares? Dragoons are damage dealers. not tankers......

I agree, Elvaan is the way to go
You can beef up on dex/accuracy items pretty easy and not really have all that much trouble hitting. Just grab a couple balance rings, spike necklace, etc at low levels and should be ok. Plus the added str means you dont really have to worry about getting str and dex like some of the other races.

I disagree, ACCR is one of hardest I find/ most expensive stat to boost and some of em are not even available on AH unless you belong to a HNMLS.

Balance rings are not enough, you need Sniper rings +5 accr that costs about 280K each on my server. some of the items can even go up to 3million or even more. ; As elvaans you wont need to worry about str, but actually str is a easier stat to boost, and cheap (with kabobs and rings).

mithras and tarus have a higher advantage in this department. maybe for soloing they are not the best, but for PT purposes their high dex lvl really helps Penta thrust or whatever WS u might be using. even tho u have high str, if u cant connect, it ultimately doesnt mean shit

humans make great drgs as well. all races have pros and cons and elvaan is NOT* the greatest imo
