As you can see here, I have produced a more readable map for this area.. to aid in both the mission and acquiring the map. I have placed the locations of every Quasilumin, as well as updated the escorts to be a little more specific and helpful. Lines now connect the path which the quasilumin NPC actually moves along to give you an idea.

Hopefully to anyone who is doing this mission, these renovated maps would hopefully come in handy^^ If anyone else has access to information not found here, let me know=)

Let me explain a little about my symbol legend here..

- The teleporters on one floor link to the same exact spot on the other floor, basically like an elevator.

- The escorts are color-coded to seperate them from each other, to help reduce confusion.

- The escort destination doors are doors that only open once your escort quasilumin makes it to his destination and is clicked.

- The escort obstacle doors are doors that are in the way of his path, and are only opened (automatically) when he gets near them and passes through them. They can only be manually opened from the other side.

- The yellow star "START" is where you enter at , you cannot ever enter through the west door, so don't try^^

- The red star "NM" is in the secret unmapped area beyond the door there. You pop this NM for CoP 8-2 and beat it up for a cutscene. It's a disco ball that can take the shapes of spider, bird, or even a HUME PLD that uses vorpal blade! If it's in spider mode, it can use sickle slash =X anyways... hope this helps!

I am aware that the Mithra corner on one of the maps has no barriers marked, there probably are not any there, but i didn't get to check the north and west sides because we were rushed and had a ton of slept mobs chasing us all over the map:D

Good stuff here. I have some additional info for some things to help complete the map you have. I'm using the race names as reference for the five towers. Starting at 12 o'Clock and working clockwise it's Hume, Elvaan, Galka, Tarutaru, and Mithra.

There is a Quasilumin on the second map in the area of H-11. It is up the ramp in the middle of that escort. It's between the Galka and Tarutaru towers.

To get to the Quasilumin on the left in J-12 of the first map, you need to use the teleporter on the second map in either K-12 or I-12. I'm more sure it is in K-12. (Elvaan tower)

Another is located on the second map in the Mithra tower. The only way to reach it, though, is during the 40min escort on the first floor that passes by the tower. The teleporter there is in D-9, i believe. You will probably run out of time for that escort, but you can easily replace it after you get the Quasilumin for the map.

There may be a few more that I can't remember, but I hope this helps. ^^

On the southeast end of the first map, the left of the two Quasilumins seems....inaccessable. How do you get to it?

Thanks muffins =) i explored again today. got all the quasis and the map=D
Thus, now this post is updated.

Sekkite: as you may have noticed, i drew the barrier there as such, but as Muffins implied and I personally discovered, you have to go through the "elvaan" teleporter and travel southbound through the lower floor to the "Galka" one. Take the teleport back up there and go around clockwise in the Galka segment to reach it there. Note: doing this is definately out of the way if you're doing the mission, so if your group has a lot of time and desire to hunt maps, then just heed this warning.

The other one that is waaaaay out of the way of the mission, is between the two doors in that long horizontal room on the blue-colored escort, you have to go west from there and reach the Mithra segment, go all the way around and teleport to the other floor, then head south-east to reach the quasi which is north of that weird mess of strange mossy crap with a ??? in it. You would have to backtrack, teleport back up, and return to the starting point for the blue escort though, as your group fully teleporting away causes your escort dude to disappear.

Keep in mind that the quasis @ H-5 on the main floor and @ F-12 on the lower floor are both in rooms behind a partical gate, both rooms having TWO open flowers in them-- which are truesight aggro. You will have to kill off the flowers to talk to it, unless of course you wanna get spanked ^^

Eh? Galka and elvaan towers? I thought those were in The Garden of Ru'hmet, not Grand Palace of Hu'xzoi.

Those are still the same towers. Hu'Xzoi is the lower level, while Ru'Mhet is the upper level.

You're right, but the map layout is the same, and used as reference points.

EDIT: Stan beat me to it. XD

yeah , to avoid confusion and to make describing the place easier, i labelled them the same way you would (Sky) and the garden. I will be doing a Ru'Mhet version of this when i get the chance.

i plan on making replacement DATs for the game files, so that you can call up my version of the map in-game (provided you acquired the key item of course)

Conveniently placed in the exact same positions as the Ark Angels' towers in Tu'Lia.... ;o

Ok its official. Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi is FFXI's best looking dungeon crawl.

It reminds me of FF8's Deep Sea Deposit.....

Great Map,. I'll be sure to let my friends know about this

You only need to talk to a Quasilumin once, then you're "flagged" for it, as far as the map goes. Leaving the area won't reset those flags.

And that problem with the unsleepable ball might be because of its Darkness element, thus making it immune to sleep. tongue.gif

Your 2nd map is missing an "obstacle door"

At G-10, when the escort is moving west and entering the oval-shaped room (with Aern mobs in it), there is a Cermet Portal it opens before entering that room.

Also if you want to include where a ??? pops for spawning Ix'Aern (a NM which drops "trigger items" for "sea gods") they are at G/H-6/7 (literally where the map grids cross), and also H/I-6/7 (again where map grids cross) on the 2nd floor (i.e. basement level with Ebon Panels). There is only one ???, but it can pop in either of these 2 locations and it never moves after it pops. Indicate this however you want on the map.
