To start off, I am Banigaru, a 75 Taru Bard from the Cerberus server, most of you already know me, as I post frequently on the forums and stuff. I’ve been asked by the KI mods to write an informative (meaning trying to be as un-opinionated as possible) guide to Barding. So I figure I’d cover it all, from starting out to the end game. Now I won’t be able to finish this all in one sit down; so for now I’ll start with the beginning. Before I continue I’d like to thank my linkshell; KnightsofNi and all the people who helped me become a great bard.
“So you think you wana be a Bard, eh?”
Well, for those who are just joining this game and trying to figure out what job you want to play to 75, let me give you a few reasons to choose bard. Bard is perhaps the most unique job in this game. There are classes that can tank and deal damage and heal, but no job can quite match the ability of a Bard. Our primary focus is to use songs to essentially raise the attributes of the party and lower that of the mob. In essence, Bards raise the level of the party and lower the level of the mob almost. Bard is the key in any overly-awesome and successful party. Bards will always be wanted and needed in XPing, some quests, and in the end game.
Be warned though, Bard can be an intensive job, do not choose it if you are looking for an easy ride to 75 and end game content because in most cases you will end up sucking. If you want to be the best you have to really enjoy your job in my opinion. Those bards that are the best are die hard barders.
“Becoming a Bard”
Ok, so you’ve reached level 30 and have decided to at least try out bard, if not become one FOREVER!!! You can trigger the Bard Flag Quest in Lower Jeuno at the Merry Minstrel (right next to the AH on the right). Talk to Lewenhart. He wants you to visit some song stones, located in Valkurm and Buburimuu. You will need to buy ONE parchment located in Leathercraft (go figure) and Visit the stone in Buburimuu. It’s located on the secret beach on the south. Trade the item and go back to Jeuno and talk the NPC then just go to Valkurm and visit the stone on the secret west beach. And poof, you’re a BARD!!! If you want you can locate the finer details on this quest such as positions on www.ffxi.allakhzam.com . They have a very good database of spells, equipment, recipes, and quests. Killing Ifrit is nice for forums, but that’s about it. (modsplzdontkillme ;;)(update: KI has been working hard to update It’s information and spell and quests lists, check these out before going anywhere else ^^)
“Being a Noob”
Well you’ve leveled one job up solo to lvl 10 and you can do it again. Grab some mithkabobs and whack at those mobs. Use your songs and buy a flute. You can buy them from the Bastok Music Shop in Bastok Markets.(use your /map). Don’t worry about string instruments just yet. At level four buy your most important instrument EVER, Cornette +1. You can find this on the AH for about 10-20k depending on your server. It can be made with Goldsmithing and Bonecraft, but if you really cant afford a +1 then just get a NQ off the AH, they also come from madragora in Sarutabaruta. You can also pick up a Flute +1 at level 7 when you get Requiem. At level 9 get Piccolo +1. You get the Idea. Always buy HQ instruments and that will be the most valuable and powerful thing your bard can have.
A very important part about Barding is Macros. Good macros will make your life easier and make you a better bard. Mine changed constantly as I leveled and it’s pretty much up to you to make them as you see fit and what works best. I can give you a few tips and tell you how to make your macros.
Ex. Line 1 - /ma “Valor Minuet II”
Line 2 - /equip range “Cornette +1”
Line 3 - /recast “Valor Minuet II”
*note* If there are any other things you want to equip like a weapon you can add it with almost no problem. The things that affect a song won’t take effect until about 70% completion.
There is a lot of debate as to either keep your macros in /echo or in party chat. At low levels, keeping in part chat might not be a bad idea, seeing as most low levels don’t even know what the songs mean or do. I know I didn’t. As you level up you might want to consider changing it. When you are 75 I highly recommend you keep a lot of them as /recast and have only lullabies in party chat.
I keep my offensive macros on the Ctrl line and my buffs on the Alt line. As I said it’s all up to you. You don’t need to make a macro for each song, infact I have all my endgame and XP macros on 1 Pallette. I’ll cover that later in my discussion on end game barding.
Ok so you have your essentials and you’re ready to try and find a party…. Good luck!
“Partying before Ballad”
This is really where you get to test your mettle. This period could make or break you as a bard. It can be rough, or it can be easy as hell, it all depends on the people you party with. You want to start getting acquainted with the basic party layout. Having people stand in the correct places will be very important to you. (also drive you crazy) You want to separate the mages and the melee far enough so that you can land different songs on each group. This can get more difficult when you get to using ballad and paladins and other stuff, but for now you’re just there for madrigal, minuet and paeon. Some ninjas may want mambo, you can take care of them too. Read the section on ballad partying because it’s almost the same thing.
At the start of the fight you want to sing your madrigal > minuet and then maybe a threnody and requiem and then you’re done unless the mages want some song. You can take this time to write a short novel or melee. But remember this wont last long, your melee days are numbered.
"Partying with Ballad"(with input from Daniph of Remora, HiddenPower)
An important tactic to add is figure out a pattern of songs for your pt setup and stick to it. Bards have one of the most repetitious jobs in xp parties if they are willing and melees are willing to move around as you play so tanks like a paladin can easily get ballad while still keeping minuet and madrigal songs on jobs that might need to stand behind the tanks. You can't go afk as bard either, least not for long.
To go into this a little more, here are some of the parties you will be facing in your bard career.
PT1: Ninja tank and non SATA DD’s. : Ok here you are pretty much free to play your songs on melee and mages free of consequence. This will be possibly your favorite party because it involves little work, which means you can watch TV or browse forums like I do.
PT2: Ninja tank and SATA DD’s: OK it can get a little complicated here. If the trick partner DOESN’T have provoke, you’ll need to be very careful about the spells you cast before SA/TA go off. Because a job like ranger who you will party with very often is relying on only the hate from 2-3 shots for hate. Try not to cast a debuff while this is happening.
PT3: Any tank and 2 Rangers: This can be pretty tricky if you’re not prepared or expecting this. The answer to this is pretty simple and it’s all about mixing the timing of your songs and their recasts. The basic idea is to play Madrigal, then Prelude the 1st ranger, then minuet, then cast a debuff like threnody or requiem, then your prelude timer should be back up, prelude the 2nd ranger and go ballad the mages. This strategy works very well until you get the 2nd Prelude song.. For parties that have more than one ranger, it’s usually typical to just play 2x minuet. But ask your members what they want, some rangers like 2 minuets and using sushi, some prefer I minuet and 1 prelude and using curry. Always get involved with your party.
PT4: Paladin and non SATA DD’s (no RDM): This can either be the bane of your existence or not that bad at all. You will need to give the paladin ballad while keeping the rest of the melee buffed. There are a few options here, in the end it’s up to your style party and the paladin.
My first suggestion is to have the party stand in a lay out like this
Mages—Bard—Paladin—MOB—Melee
This can be a little tricky at first but in the end you’ll get the hang of it. Your job here is to learn the appropriate distance between the mages and paladin in which to stand to not get ballad on the melees. This can take some practice but you’ll get the hang of it, it usually is harder for the melees than the bard.
My second suggestion that can work is to just play your buffs on the paladin and melees and have the paladin run back quickly after the battle to get a ballad 2 or 1 as time permits and this can work well if the paladin doesn’t mind bringing a lot of juice.
PT5: Paladin and SATA DD’s (no RDM): This first thing I can say, is just don’t get involved with this kind of party, it’s annoying and a lot of work. But…it’s too late and you’re sucked into one anyways. You can take my 2nd suggestion from PT4 or you can do the first one. Just remember to not take hate before the SATA and if you are ballading a paladin in the middle of a SATA WS or something, there is nothing you can do about it, except maybe wait till after, but often times that’s time you don’t want to waste. Most bards tend to stay away from parties like this.
PT 6: Paladin Tank and RDM: this is fine, your paladin may ask for ballad but mostly they’ll take melee songs like everyone else, this is really the best way to party with a paladin and one you’ll find most often xping on bones with Paladins and Monks.
"Side notes on partying: (Daniph again ^^)"
As you level up you; learn the approximate distance you need to stand to just hit certain members of your pt. It changes as you lvl up.
If you have trouble landing elegy try a pattern that makes full use of your time (multitasking).
Play an initial Elegy, then melee songs (2 songs), then elegy, then mage songs (another 2 songs), then another elegy if it fails. The time it takes for you to play 2 songs is roughly the recast time of your elegy (including lag time and running between groups) and it can make a huge difference to your tank especially if its a ninja, and its about a 2 second cast time. When compared to a buff song which is about 6-8 seconds. having mages wait an addition 2-3 seconds to get their ballads wont kill them.
Chances are you'll be subbing WHM or RDM. Everyone uses mp differently. Keep in mind a bard's job is to sing songs, you are an enhancer. You're supposed to help the healer, not try to replace a main healer, but don't be stingy with your mp either. Try to never have full mp while EXPing as a rule of thumb of how much mp I should be using. Pay attention when you see the main healer resting as well.
Thernodies are like madrigals (increase in accuracy) for mages for that particular element. They do not actually boost damage. They reduce the chance of it being resisted. Use them wisely. The higher tier nuke spells that take 6-8 seconds you can actually see a RDM or BLM casting and still have time to play the appropriate threnody and have it land before their spell lands as well. Also you can play Threnody with the appropriate skillchain. Playing Thunder Threnody with a Fragmentation skillchain can add 400-600 damage.
Remember bards can magic burst. Songs have properties like magic but do not agro elementals nor mobs that agro to magic.
Bards also rarely get interupted from being hit by mobs as opposed to mages. Use this to your advantage. I usually stop and count 1 full second before singing cause it sucks when you do get interrupted because you were still moving according to the server when you started playing your song. That’s 6 seconds wasted and you have to wait a few more before you can recast.
Note on Requiem: This song, while nice is not something that should get in the way of your primary duties. The basic fight should go Elegy> Threnody (if SC at start)> buffs> threnody (if it wore or SC soon) Ballad and that’s it, if the fights are long, you can play a requiem at the start of the fight, you can also MB it with a Light skillchain.
"Disco ball in XP pts or BCNMs"
In case you weren’t aware, Soul Voice, the Bard SP (2hr) doubles the effect of all songs for a 3 minute period. This can be used to your advantage in multiple ways.
In an experience party or BCNM, it will develop with experience when to use it ... this SP is not to be used in this setting as a last resort. If you notice that puller has picked up too many adds when pulling or an unexpected death or a mob is REALLY beyond your pt's abilities then you should use this relatively early on during the fight.
A bard's songs don't shine in one particular moment in an experience party like Benediction or Invincible, but its over the duration of a fight. It takes practice and judgment to see if its needed. But to note: giving mages 6mp/3 sec for 3-6 mins long makes a big difference or boost your party's attack by 200-300 can make all the difference.
Another way this ability can be used is to maintain XP chains.
“Food for Bards.”
This topic has been brought up countless times and I don’t think anyone has really ever offered a concrete answer. So I’ll do my best to discuss the effectiveness of some of the foods other bards have suggested.
PIE !!! : Let there be no question, I love pie. Out of the pies, the most effective would have to be Rollanberry Pie. Ever since the last cooking patch these have become stackable and affordable. They add 50 MP and have no –CHR effects, unlike Pumpkin Pie which gives 40MP and -2 CHR. These are an excellent choice for almost any party.
Tacos, Tuna Sushi, Tea, and other CHR food: Rarely have I ever seen the use of a food like this come in hand. Some bards live by them but personally I have never found them to be worth the high price they come with. If I were going to chose a CHR food It would probably be Taco’s because they offer the most useful stats, 20 HP & MP, 4 CHR, +27% defense.(note: sushi offers Sleep resistance, good for ballista, vrtra)
PAMAMAMAMAMAMA~!: If you have an Opo-opo Crown, you use these, no questions asked. Opo crown is the best head armor to wear in an experience party, with the rare exception of Genbu’s Kabuto if you are getting hit a lot while pulling.
Maron Glace: This food is really only for those crazy bards who can pull off 500-600 MP with their end game gear. It is possible to get over 800 MP as a Tarutaru bard with food like this. It adds 13% MP capping at 85 I believe with 1hMP.
Attack Food, Accuracy Food: If you’re soloing or skilling up pick up some sushi or miths. Always good
“What to wear…”
This subject is concerned not with what exact gear to wear at every exact level as that would take a lot of fun out of it, and a lot of work. What advice I would like give is that it is important to choose your stats depending on the level of your party and the level of the mobs you are fighting. Also certain mobs might require you to make certain exceptions.
Essentially there are three stats that bards need to focus on. Those are CHR and MP, and instrument skill. (Ok, there are 3 different skills but I’ll treat them the same). First, it is always good to have MP to help cure the party, but it has to be balanced out with CHR. Essentially if you are fighting mobs that are many levels above your party and you are having trouble landing your songs you want to replace some of your MP gear with CHR/skill gear. Likewise, if you are fighting T-VT mobs or mobs like weapons that don’t often resists songs, swap out that CHR/skill gear for MP gear. Some of the gear that can be swapped are Rings, Headgear, Back, and Waist pieces.
The CHR vs. Skill debate…ok this is the real hot ground for bards. To tell the truth, no one really knows which is better. What we do know is that skill and CHR work almost nothing like magic stats for other mage jobs. As a general rule, it’s best to compare the skill and CHR options for each slot. A good rule I like to go by is 1 Wind skill= 2 CHR. Opinions on that will vary greatly from bard to bard. In my experience a balance of the two will yield the most optimal results. I’ll explain a lot more of this in the HNM section of this guide…coming somewhat soon.
“Weapons, Signa, Stavess”
This section is pretty straight forward, what weapons can bard use and which ones should you use while partying and soloing. For soloing, there are 3 good options. Bard’s highest melee skill is Dagger, capping at 240 which means we can do the Evisceration WS quest. The best dagger bard can use is probably the Daylight Dagger dropped by the Yagudo God. Evisceration is good for farming and is just a fun WS and of course it’s easy to skill up dagger.
Bard’s are not the best with Swords, but our skill caps at 220 and with out Warrior sub we can not use Vorpal Blade. Joyuse is a nice sword for bards, and we can use spirit’s within.
Staves are a good option for bards as well. I think Staff caps at 230 for bards, just enough to get Retribution. We also learn Spirit Taker, the ultimate WS for soloing (converts damage done into MP). Good options are Earth Staff for defense and Wyvern Perch as the highest damage staff for bard.
As for leveling, you have a few options. Before 51 you can use a variety of combinations, but Monster Signa is the best. Don’t’ stress yourself out though if you can’t afford it, AF knife and Chanter’s Shield works, just not as well. You really won’t have much of a problem before 51 with resists so it’s pretty much a mute point.
After 51 however, the Elemental Staves, particularly Earth and Light staves are the best choice you can make. NQ staves are even less than a Signa, so ditch that ugly stick and pick up some staves. Ultimately you will aim for HQ staves for landing lullaby and elegy. When you hit 51 and don’t have a lot of money, I’d strongly consider getting light staff before earth staff, because you really don’t have to worry too much about elegy until 59. Elemental staves also affect threnodies. I carry the full set of HQ staves and they make a huge difference especially at the HNM level.
"Genkai 5 (Maat fight)"
Ok, so you've reached level 70 (or close to it) and now it's time to whoop Maat's ass. contrary to what most people say, the G5 fight for Bard is not hard at all. Sometimes there is a luck factor involved as well. There are two basic strategies for the fight, but since one requires millions of gil in gear and the other one about 50k, i'll go with the cheap Paeon method, unless you happen to have a Scorpion Harness and E pin and all that facny evasion crap at level 70...
Ok, so the whole idea of this method it to stack defense and attack gear and hold up with paeons and Hi potions untill he gives up. First I would recommend having sword leveled to at least 175 skill (spirits within) You're going to need Defense armor, Carapace is good, phalanx rings, amemet mantle, life belt, etc. You will need the following as well:
15 hi-potions
1 Tavnazian Taco
4 Sleeping potions
1 Icarus wing
1 Opo opo necklace
1 stack of selbina Milk
Horn +1
Ebony Harp (+1 if you can afford)
Hamelin Flute
Ok, so you enter the BC and run up to the edge so you can see what songs Maat is casting on himself. Then you want to equip your opo necklace and use your 4 sleeping potions to get 100 TP, afterwards eat your icarus wing, your taco, a milk and then activate Soul Voice. Sing 2x Paeons and start casting Requiem on Maat and then Elegy. From here on focus on keeping your HP up and when you get 300% TP hi pot to full HP and let Maat have it. Make sure to keep your songs up before they wear out and try to get the most out of your Soul Voice, it lasts three minutes. Finale anything you fight that might hinder you like Minne, Minuet, Paeon and keep your milk up for when he Finales you. And that's pretty much it, just try to keep your HP high and your songs up and you should win! Good luck~^^
“Everything you wanted to know about being an HNM Bard and more~”
This section will be very long, there are a few area’s of barding I’d like to discuss when it comes to HNM. Gear, Bard tactics, Macros, looking good, and how to get the ladies. Oh, I forgot about stuff like making money and getting a good reputation.
MACROS!!!
Ok, I talked briefly about this earlier and now I’d like to expand. I’m going to offer you my complete macro set and hopefully you’ll see that you don’t have to take up 4-5 palettes. You can infact fit all your macros on 1 bar. First off, I see a lot of bards who are obsessed with having every spell macroed and it’s completely unnecessary. Having to switch back and forth between macro palettes is a major pain. Also getting used to the magic menu will help too, in fact, did you know that you can manually re-arrange the spells in your magic menu?
The essential macros to have of course are the ones you use for XP, madrigal, minuet, elegy, finale, lullaby etc. Keeping these organized is going to save you a lot of time and trouble when you’re in a pinch and need to toss out songs left and right. Mine are usually changing depending on what’s going on, but this is what they generally look like:
CTRL: 1-Foe Lullaby, 2-Horde Lullaby, 3-Carnage Elegy, 4-Magic Finale, 5-Ltng. Threnody, 6- (Changing) Threnody, 7- 2x Mambo, 8- Mazkura, 9-Erase, 10- Cure 3
ALT: 1- Ballad II, 2- Ballad I, 3- 2x Madrigal, 4- 2x Minuet, 5- 2x Prelude, 7- 2x MND etude, 8- 2x STR etude, 9- 2x INT etude, 0- Pull macro
A few things: All the offensive and buffing songs are grouped separately, doubling up a lot of songs if possible. The way this works, is:
Line 1- /equip range “Cornette +1”
Line 2- /ma “Valor Minuet IV”
Line 3- /wait 1
Line 4- /ma “Valor Minuet III”
When you press the macro the first time, it will play Minuet IV and not III because IV is already playing. After IV is done playing, and you hit it again, III will play and IV will not because the recast timer is not up. This effectively doubles your space for songs that usually are used in twos. For everything else, I recommend re-arranging your magic menu for easy access to status resist songs and curing spells. (note: keep the stronger version of the song first so incase you only want to use that one you get the best ^^)b
Gear- There are several armors available for end game bard, which ones you get/use will often depend on your play-style and their availability to you. Also, race might factor into which gear you decide to use as well. For the sake of simplicity, there are essentially 4-5 sets of end game armor that can mixed and matched to suit certain needs:
Zenith Armor: This set focuses primarily on HP > MP conversion to allow you to use your support job to a greater extent, some pieces even add +CHR (Feet and Legs). This set comes from HNMs and requires abjurations and cursed pieces to become equipable. Zenith Crown comes from Byakko and Genbu, Zenith Slacks from Suzaku and Seiryu, Zenith Mitts from Fafnir and Genbu, Zenith Pumps from King Behemoth and Fafnir. Out of those pieces the Feet and Legs are excellent for EXP parties, dynamis, as well as small groups for money etc. The best piece of Zenith equipment however, is Dalmatica (Nidhogg and Aspidochelone). This armor is extremely good for bard, the utility of a refresh and +MP body armor that keeps a head slot open is convenient for those bards who use Opo-opo Crown or AF2 Hat. This is an armor, that in my opinion every bard should strive to obtain.
Tu’lai God Armor: This set obviously is comprised of pieces from the five sky gods Genbu, Suzaku, Sieryu, Byakko, and Kirin. Aside from looking good, they each have their merits for bards. The most notable piece for bard is obviously Kirin’s Osode which offers +10 to all stats and 30 MP. This armor is also good for just about everything, especially soloing and skill-up. Byakko’s Haidate is in my opinion the second best piece of god armor you can obtain. +5% haste is useful for keeping Lullaby recast timers down, as well as other spells. Other pieces such as Suzaku Sun-ate offer little utility for bards, the most I’ve used them for is in dynamis when facing mobs that use Mijin Gakure. The Kabuto and Kote do have their merits though, they both offer +50 HP each, which is handy for soloing (+15 VIT and AGI) and to equip while weakened where +HP will save your life (Fafnir wings ><). Also if you count the Genbu Shield here, it’s very nice for bard when soloing.
Bard JSE (Sha’ir): This gear, released a few months ago offers some interesting options as well. This armor offers a mix of +CHR, + % haste, +MP, and reduced cast time and recast. Out of this set, most people seem to use the Feet, which offer +4 CHR (only dance shoes +1 did before), some MP and + 1% haste. The Legs are also popular, offer + 2% haste, +8 CHR and some MP as well. There is a debate in my mind sometimes as to weither the JSE hands are better than AF hands. I’ve deduced that the HQ JSE, the Sheihk Gagues are the best hand armor for bards ever, +6 CHR, -4 second recast is ridiculously good. I’ve had these for a few months and I wouldn’t give up anything for them. The NQ are good for Dynamis and AF hands are decent enough as well. The body pieces, the Sha’ir Manteel is, as we all know, a pain in the ass to get. It comes from Vrtra or a 8n mil desynth that fails a lot. I was somewhat skeptical of this piece until I got it, and it is useful in more places than I thought. It is the best body piece for Dynamis, XP, kited mobs, and anywhere else where playing your songs faster with lower recast (almost everywhere) is useful. If you can get this, more power to you, but it’s mostly limited to strong HNM LS’ and rich people who can afford the desynth. The last piece of this gear, the head, sucks.
AF2 Armor: Everyone wants AF2, and for those of you who have successful Dynamis linkshells, you probably enjoy owning dynamis as well. However, similarly to regular AF, some of it is really useless when compared to other gear. There are some pieces that you should aim to collect though, if not the whole set for the sake of it. The head I think is the best head piece for bard in the game, offering +5 CHR and +5 singing skill, with food can offer +10 CHR which is pretty decent, this seems to be for me a rare drop in Dynamis-Sandoria, I got it my first dynamis run ever! The other hometown pieces are Feet from Jeuno which offer nothing very useful (imo) besides –emnity and the hands from Bastok, which arguably have their merits. The body piece, looks cool but doesn’t offer much in the way of +CHR or MP, it’s good for melee if you don’t already have an Osode. The pants from Xarcabard however, are extremely good, offering +8 CHR in certain circumstances as well as +42 MP, quite good.
Errant Armor: This is quintessential gear for any mage job, offering large +’s to all mage stats and –emnity. This armor is good for just about anything. It’s good for Dragon fights and sky gods. The HQ of body is (imo) by far the absolute best body piece for a bard in most circumstances (+11 CHR @@
“Dreaded CHR vs Skill”
Ok, I’ve tried to stay away from discussing this, because I will probably piss some people off who don’t agree, so I will start out disclaming that I don’t have any solid evidence or written proof for parsing data, and that I am only using my own opinion from my vast HNM experiences.
As far as I’m aware +CHR and +skill offer similar and different effects. +skill can decrease your resists and in larger numbers increase the power of songs like minuet by small amounts. +CHR has no effect on song strength, just lowers the chance of resistance, some people also believe (I do as well) that CHR indirectly affects hate over time. Many times you will see that bard gets the smack down from a mob after the tanks die or loose hate. This can also be due to the fact that spells are always being casted on the whole party and on the monster. For example, let’s say the amount of hate generated by casting Ballad II on one person (not including yourself) is the same as casting Cure 2 on someone, multiply by 6 and think of how many times you cast ballads during a Tiamat fight. Also add in the many times you play Elegy and Threnodies and Curagas and Stoneskins and Virunas and it’s not surprising that bards can gather a lot of hate over time.
While you are levling up, there are not many circumstances where +skill and +CHR pieces will be in conflict, most people go for minstrels coat and af legs etc. The debate comes down to end game where there are many options in each slot between +skill and +CHR. I personally think that a mix between the two is the most effective. I use wind torque and wind earring and +CHR in every other slot. I also have +8 wind skill from merit points. With this set up I have yet to meet another bard who can land songs as or more effectively on my server. So there is my opinion, when leveling most of the +skill pieces are superior to the +CHR pieces at those levels but at end game, choosing a mix between the two is the best idea.
OK, I finally got around to adding another section on to this bad boy, sorry for the wait, it’s been a really long and busy summer. I’ve found some time to relax and work on this though, so I hope it helps you all and perhaps answers some questions you may have about bard. The rest of this I will dedicate to FAQ, so if you have a question, I’ll post it *here* and try to answer it so people don’t have to keep asking it. Once again, thanks for all the support and helpful advice, good luck to all you other bards out there, and keep it pimp.

-further edit: Completely forgot to add a section on Maat fight, just added ^^/
-11/5/06
Ok so I figured I'd write this, because i occasionally visit KI and such and thought it best to leave a message here. I wrote this like last summer in '05, and as of like a few months ago I stopped playing FFXI, not through my own accord, I was banned. Basically I was sharing a credit card with someone who got randomly banned and i got shitcanned, even though I had changed my CC info, but SE sucks so whatever. For a while I played on friends characters but really it wasn't the same, so I uninstalled ffxi and still hang around forums wherever. Basically I'm writing this because you wouldn't believe how many priv messages i get a day, at least 1-2 still. So for anyone who reads this, try sending it to someone else on here, there alot of good bards out there who can help you out, you can still leave a few with me but, I might be slow
Overall I'm not really mad, getting banned was good, my GPA is already up 1 whole point. haha. I might be playind PSU, but for now I'm enjoying FFXII. So good luck to everyone and hope you enjoy bard as much as I did
