I am 65 NIN and plan to get into the HNM/God scene after I'm 75.

FIRST I CAN NOT AFFORD BOTH. Which one would you choose and why?

Arrow burn parties, dunno if this applies anymore due to the update.., Any party your having trouble holding hate then use Arhats.


Most parties, Scorp Harness... I prefer Byrnie. but meh

I use NQ Arhat's simply because I don't feel like blowing 3 million on +1 enmity and -3% more damage reduction...

I have about +28 evasion, wich can increase to +41 if I'm fighting fairly accurate mobs (gotta love equipment macros) and I really only ever get hit if the mob double attacks and/or throws out a weaponskill right after clearing my last shadow. I don't really feel like I need the SH because of this. I've been able to hold hate while petrified thanks to the enmity I build up from wearing full arhat's.

Now that last bit may change thanks to the update, but first and foremost I believe it's my duty to hold hate, even when something goes wrong and I start taking hits. If the healer has to drop a heal or two on me once every few fights, there's not much to complain about, since they have to heal PLD's a lot more than that.

For Gods Arhats Gi+1 over SH easily. You will get hit, and when you do the -dmg take will be nice.. even if it seems like little difference. It adds up overtime.

and for Blind Ninja: If you think that +10eva on a SH makes that much a difference and you are getting hit that much more while exping with arhats, you should quit nin.

I've exp with both the point of SH is +10 acc more than the +10 eva the evasion is the icing on the cake since your katanas will build more hate than NIN 65+. Arhats NQ or HQ are decent for exp, they shine vs Gods.

I wear arhats+1 24/7 lol. I Sold my byrnie and SH. SH is nice for the baby HNM Serket amikiri bune Charby etc. But I merited evasion and baught a Scouters Rope which is 10 evasion just like the SH without the accuracy(So I'm bassically wearing a SH and arhats+1 at the same time. Even dough I lose some kool stats if i were to wear Scouters rope instead of Warewolf belt(+5 vit +5 str +3 enmity?*. But its a good trade).

If anything get the SH first then Once your lvl 75 or 73 sell the SH and get the arhats GI+1. but first try to predict if Arhats +1 will go up in price in your server so you can get it then rather getting it later on and paying more for it.

i would say arhats +1 simply because of the white box around the outside. SH is nice but i know nins who were and are excellent at the job who used NQ arhats from 63-75. arhats will benefit you in the long run and you can use it all the time anyway.

i have exped in ARTIFACT ARMOR, SCORPION HARNESS, ARHATS GI,( haub was for coffer keys ) BYRNIE, AN WAR SHINOBI. an in my opinion. the SCORPION HARNESS wins hands down. i was able to notice the +10 eva, an +10 acc. people who claim the +10 eva doesnt matter should try to exp in a haub. you will notice the -20 eva real quick.

AF= if i didnt have the money i would take this to arhats gi, or beyond. the hp boost, an the dual weild boost is a big +.

ARHATS GI = good for an eminity macro. though i never saw a differnce in the damage i took. physical damage taken isnt worth it unless you have alot of it.

BYRNIE = im still trying to figure this one out. i saw no real difference in my damage, or weaponskills. dont get me wrong. there was an increase. but im not sure the differnce between that, an normal armor atks.

WAR SHINOBI = good macro armor to restore hp. i used this mainly when there was a small break, or a long pull. or when i wasnt tanking for things like ls events an such.

SCORPION HARNESS = trust me the +10 acc, an eva are very noticeable. atleast for me they were. more acc ment more hits landed, an that = more hate over time. another thing i noticed was the eva. especiallly when i macro jumped to arhats, or byrnie.

if you dont believe that the +10 eva is a big thing for the S.H. then i suggest you exp with a haub. you will notice the _20 on the first mob. even on D/C, an E.P i noticed the huge differnce.

I can't afford the harness so I've been using NQ arhat's till now. It is a good armor, not just for switching in when you provoke. When you keep this equiped, every katana hit and spell you land will increase your enmity and it really adds up over time.
No need to feel gimped if you use this.

if nin can tank 1-57 with +35 evasion, i'm not sure why ppl think they -need- SH at 57 considering you were able to tank fine for 57, well, we'll say 45 levels since you dont tank 1-12. If you do the job right you could probably tank with haubergeon on
