Recently I found that I could switch the appearance of weaponskills by exchanging the respective .dat files for the race in question. In the log it would show as the name of the weaponskill originally used, but the motion would be for the .dat that I switched it to.
What I think would be pretty cool but haven't tried yet, is if I could switch a commonplace emote with something like, Dragon Kick and then fraps it or something. If anyone has done this yet, please post your results.

Something very interesting...

Hm...
Sounds interesting.
I'll try it if I can get the .dat file names for them.
It'll work, not sure how well though.
EDIT: Could someone possibly post the .dat file names >.>?

For each emote and all the weaponskills... that would take some compiling.
However it would be pretty badass to watch my character Ground Strike Maat when all I'm doing is a silly Dragon Kick.

Well, if we got a complete list we could stucky it for later use...
THe only .dat list I know of now is the one for the moogle swapping.
I'd like to see myself Dragon Kick when all i'm doing is /wave

Yeah, but as you know it would have to correspond with your race and gender, otherwise you could seriously botch something. I remember one time when I switched my body .dat file with that of the Ark Angel Galka, and I was like, three feet taller than I was before... haha!

Use Modelviewer; it has a nearly complete list of .dats built in...

I do, actually. Trouble is, the emotes are an amalgamation of two to three dat files, and I'm still shaky as to whether or not it would compromise the functionality of the game.

So test it and find out. Loading the wrong .dats won't make your computer explode or anything.

Uh, look down a little, I posted a full list...
EDIT: Its on page 2, can someone bump it?
EDIT2: Here is the list on my Alla journal.
EDIT3: (I like edits) most emotes are only one file, only where an action can be held while another animation finishes have multiple files, or ones that have variable lengths. For example, /wave is a single file for each race (Except Taru, they're the same I think), however, something like the BLM casting animation is three files. The first is the warm up animation, the second is the spread arms action, and the third is your character holding that pose.
