Id like to find out from others which weapons they were able to give thier NPCs when the option became available, as I havent found a trend yet to determine wether a weapon is viable or not. Ive already lost 10k net gil from tests(bought several Great Katanas and then resold them when it turned out they didnt work). Please post any weapons you have traded to Luto(succusfully or not), and wether this was an original weapon or after you were given the option to upgrade. I'll update the original post with these findings. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm pretty sure in terms of the "Beginner" weapon, its the first weapon of whatever type [i.e. G.Sword, Sword, Scythe, etc.] that can be purchased from a NPC, not sure though.

I had considered that, but checked the weapon list and found it cant be. Tachi(lvl 8 GK) can be bought from the Tenshodo Merchants, and so can Uchigatana(lvl 12 GK). I traded the Uchigatana and it worked. And it cant be all NPC available weapons, since the Okanehira(Lvl 23 GK) and Kanesada(Lvl 26 GK), available from the same shop, dont work.

Tried Tachi didnt work thanks though for posting which GK worked. If I find out any other's I'll post them.

First upgrade for the G.tana is Uchigatana.
Second upgrade is the Tachi.
SE got it a bit wrong first time. ^^;
Third upgrade should be coming up though.

Amind why not just leave the NPC w/ the lv12 GK, i think it would do more dmg than having it equipt a lv8GK. Luto asked mr for a 2nd upgrade for the weapond, but am not thinking of changing it.

Bronze>Brass can be confirmed by me. The next 2 i used commen sense on. You should be able to tell what the upgrades will by be looking. Though there can be irregularities.

If you were given the option to upgrade weapons then that seems possible. Buttefly Axe might be a starting weapon, then when given the option you gave Tachi(upgrade weapon) and then later gave an Uchigatana(starting weapon). I'll add Butterfly Axe to the list.

But anyways, gonna try this once I get back to Jeuno. Seeing as the Uchigatana is pretty cheap too I cant see this setting me back even if my paranoia turns out well-founded. And you'll note I also took the unconfirmed off of Tachi a while ago, since I felt that was a little unfair.

Tried the Tachi, showed a small improvment in damage against Yhutunga Mandragoras. Thanks for the info Tykkaru

Gave mine a scythe, went in the order of:

Bronze Scythe >>> Brass Scythe

Was not able to upgrade the weapon to a Brass Scythe +1 however so i guess its NQ onry. 8 When i get the third upgrade option ill post back about what i was able to use.
