My NPC is set to healer... Her H2H Skill SUCKS, attacks only with right hand, misses often and hits are weak... Any other recomendation for Healer's Weapon Choise?

Cuz hell... Initial Sword worked fine... and well WHMs aren't any skilled with Sword... Advice please...

npcs have an a ranking in all weapon skills, anyhow, did the final weapon upgrade (great axe), and it looks like a rune axe pretty freaking sweet ^^. how about the other weapons, all runeish or something else

I just recently got the final G.Axe upgrade and it appears that the weapon my npc is using in Rune Chopper, i was wondering if my npc's weapon still has the latent effect on it (acc+5 haste+9%, cost 3mp/tick when engaged). My npc is healer type so this weapon wouldn't be best if the latent effect is on the GA. So if anyone has this for their npc, please tell me if the latent effect is on the weapon or not.

Coltx, I doubt that is the case. I was also wondering if people could post what there 7th upgrade of each weapon looks like.

is there any special requirement to getting weapon upgrade 7 besides fellowship bond, because I already have access to the 8th head gear which is well above the bond lvl I need to get the 7th wep upgrade. Been playing with npc for quite some time now, and still have yet to upgrade the weapon to the final level.

Anyways, Im not aware of any other requirement. Im still working my friendship up to make that final upgrade so I cant confirm or deny personally, but my ls mates who have upgraded didnt mention any extra loops to jump through.

*gets bitten by the thread and starts craving brains. Seeing none on this forum he heads to other parts of the interweb*

7th Polearm upgrade is Kamayari, and appears as such when your NPC uses it. I recently changed from 7th polearm to 7th great katana. This one really hurt my wallet. The 7th great katana is Kiku-Ichimonji I believe, lv 51 great katana. Had to pay 350,000 gil for one off AH lol. This isn't the appearance of the weapon you get though. You get a sword identical to the lv 61 Zanbato, and/or the lv 72 Hagun. It's a flat tipped broad great katana. Overall I think GKT is the best weapon type for DD npcs. There aren't any AOE ws and the weapon class is awesome for SCs. As a 75 DRG I can make Darkness with my npc (Tachi: Gekko > Impulse Drive) ^^

Also I forgot to mention my npc is lv 65 with 1 tnl since 65 is the current cap. Just wanted to say that since the npcs lv seems to come into play when determining which ws they can use.

My npc is lvl 65 as well and she uses Great sword. The only problem is she hasn't used Spinning Slash even once >.< Any ideas as to why? I may switch to Gkt but the Ram-dao gives pretty sweet dmg if you are interested! Only problem is Shockwave has nearly killed me more times then it has saved me lol!!

My char is 65, uses a katana and is a healer tier 1. I've done the Genki for it, and spent several hours armor lvling it. Right now it's in a SH, O. kote, fuma sunte [replica armor versions of course] and for the pants I had the black tiger shorts; my question/problem is, when I go to lock in the pants, I automatically "re-lock" my SH, kote, and boots, so not to lose that armor-- in doing so, she says "Is that it?" and the option to secure the pants is lost, thus when i summon it again, it has something else on. I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem lookcing in only 3/4 armor, or if once you lock a piece in, you can simply click a different piece and lock it in place, w/o jepordizing losing the other armor you've locked in.

I think you can only lock in a total of 3 armor because I have been trying to get full darksteel set for my npc (the suits of armor that are on display in Chateau d'Oraguille) and I only get the option to lock in 3 as well. I am gonna go with body hands and feet. Just curious what do you mean by genki? Also as healer type are you able to use the lvl 65 weaponskill?

Not Genki but all the lv cap quest to obtain 65, was sorta misleading heh. Yeah, my Npc uses Blade: Jin; she'll cycle through WS'es and thats the most I've seen her use. Thx for replying to my question though, it does suck, and i may just sacrafice the boots for pants.
