A Complete guide to your npc from the quest needed to get him/her to leveling them and upgrading there weapons
The Quest is activated by a Mithran NPC named Luto Mewlirah, in Upper Jeuno at position (G-7), near the Cathedral. You'll go into a cutscene in which she explains she has a list of names of people she needs to track down. She hands you the list and tells you to pick from one of the names from one of the races and genders. The name you select is the name your NPC shall have, and it DOES NOT correspond with the face of your NPC.
After speaking with Luto Mewlirah, you can either speak to a few NPCs, who determine the hair style, including:
Akta(Hume Male): Located in Ru'Lude Gardens, at position (H-10 ).
Kuha Dakonasa(Mithra): Located in Lower Jeuno, at position (H-8 ).
Red Ghost(Galka): Located in Port Jeuno, at position (G-8 )
Now I'm not sure which races this applies to, but some of them can speak to two or sometimes all three NPCs, and other races may only be allowed to speak to one. I'd reccomend trying to talk to all three, and once they stop asking questions, head back up to Upper Jeuno.
Once you've spoken with all of the NPCs you can, head on over to the Gate to Batallia Downs in Upper Jeuno, and speak with a Hume Male named Bheem, who determines the color of your NPC's hair.
Bheem's "favourite color" is no specific color. If you answer "Could Be" You will receive Hair Style A for your NPC's pre-set face, which was determined depending on how you answered the previous NPC's questions. If you answer "Not Likely", you'll get Hair Style B.
Once you chose "Could Be" or "Not Likely", Bheem will mention he saw him or her earlier, and cutscene will begin, showing what your NPC will look like. He or She will be seen talking to a young hume girl in a brown dress with a brown cap. After this is over, run back over to position (G-8 ) and talk to Luto Mewlirah.
A cutscene will play, and you'll be given a Silver Ignot. It serves no purpose for the rest of the quest, so sell it or use it for crafting if you'd like. After the cutscene is over, Zone and speak with Luto Mewlirah.
This time a Hume Woman will appear, distressed about her missing daughter, Palometa. She said she was wearing a brown dress, and a brown cap when she went outside to play earlier. After this cutscene run back to Bheem by the Batallia Downs gate and speak with him.
This time Bheem mentions that your NPC was seen a few minutes ago, and he or she was speaking to the little girl you're looking for, and he said he wasn't sure what was said, since he wasn't paying attention.
Head to (G-8 ) in Batallia Downs, and enter into Eldieme Necropolis.
examine the ??? and..This time your NPC buddy will be talking with the little girl, as you wander over. You two will meet eyes for a moment, and then run past him or her, and they will turn around, looking shocked. An Skeleton will be standing there, and your NPC buddy tells the little girl to run and hide.
This is where the NM, Namarado, will spawn. It's a Skeleton, and there is no level cap, and it's about level 40, so it should be easy. Your NPC will also spawn with it, and immidiately provoke the NM. If your NPC dies, Zone and repeat the cut scean After it is successfully killed, check your NPC, and they will say they are going to escort the little girl back to Jeuno, and dissappear. You can then return to Upper Jeuno.
Upon returning to Jeuno, speak with Luto Mewlirah again. This time your NPC will be there with you, and return the little girl to her mother, and the girl will exclaim how you saved her ect. Luto will introduce herself, and they will talk about the Mirror. Then Luto Mewlirah will say she will keep you updated if anything else happens.
Zone out and zone back in, and speak with Luto Mewlirah.. Luto will be excited about some news she recieved, and your NPC will arrive. Luto will ask your NPC to use her Mirror to find some information about another Mirror, which your NPC reveils is in San d'Oria, but he or she knows nothing more. Luto asks that you and your NPC try to find it together, and you're off to San d'Oria. you have to go to Port San d'Oria, and go into Cargo Room B, and speak with Portaure, who is an elderly Elvaan Male.
. Portaure will explain that he lost some cargo, and is worried about it, when your NPC enters, and asks if his missing cargo looked anything like his or her Mirror. Portaure exclaims that it did, and he hopes the Orcs in Ghelsba haven't gotten to it.
. The NM is a Dred Dragon, named Carrion Dragon, that has a Level cap of 40. I've seen a naked White Mage defeat this dragon solo, so no worries of scrambling together some gil for some cheap gear, just go naked! But make sure you got a weapon. (up to 3 people can enter this battle with you)
When it's your turn, you, and your party members, if you have any, will examine the Hut Door and choose the battlefield "Mirror, Mirror" (You and your Party members, if ya got 'em, will fight the Dragon without your NPC, until the Dragon reaches about 50% HP, then your NPC will jump in to the rescue, and accidentally break the Mirror on the Dragon.(if you go solo at about 75% health your npc will arrive)
Kill off the dragon succesfully, without your NPC dying. Your NPC is upset that they broke the Mirror, and asks you what he or she should do, either Take it to Luto or Not. I've chosen Take it to Luto, and I'm not sure what happens if you choose not to.
Back to Upper Jeuno. Speak with Luto Mewlirah for your last and final cutscene. Luto will be shocked and devistated that the Mirror was shattered in the process, but she understands if it was to save your life. Your NPC and Luto will talk for a bit about the Mirror, and then your NPC will exclaim that her Mirror shows your face, and wonders if they have been led to you. He or She will give you a Signal Pearl, which is an Earring (Level 5, All Jobs). He or She will also mention that you and him or her should have a "Rendezvous Point" in each nation. Luto will then say she's happy to see friendships bond, and says to check up with her any time.
Rendezvous Points:
Ru'Lude Gardens: To the left when you enter the area, near a lightpost.
Northern San d'Oria: By the entrance to the Mog House
Windurst Waters: By the entrance to the Mog House's
Port Bastok: By the entrance to the Mog House's. Thank you!
At these points, you can check the Level of your NPC, and the fighting style of your NPC. combat dialouge. You can tell them to notify you when they are low on Hit Points and Magic Points, and they can notify you on what they are doing, such as Weapon Skills, and Skillchains. Also you can just generally chat with your NPC, if you are that bored.
Signal Pearl:
Once you equip your Signal Pearl, and use it. This will summon your NPC in about 3 seconds. They will greet you, and follow you around. Your NPC will remain with you for about 20 minutes to a half hour, then they will say goodbye in their own personal way, and dissappear. They will also dissappear if they are killed, or if you are killed, if you log out or enter a town. After summoning your NPC, it takes 20 Earth Hours to re-summon. Which is sort of a bummer, and I hope SE changes that -quick-
.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
DO NOT CLICK ON YOUR NPC
This will cause them to leave you in 10 sec if you do not click them again . It is annoying as hell to get them out and click them and they leave and you have to wait 20 hours till you can re summon them. If you by mistake click on them click them again and they will stay if you do not they will leave, Do not zone or you will lose them do not Teleport or get on a Cho either
How your NPC Reacts to Spells
When you summon your NPC, they will greet you and follow you around. You may cast any spells on your NPC, Protectra and Shellra, will not effect them, and you have to individually cast Protect and Shell on them. Na spells, such as Poisona and Paralyna will also work on your NPC. You can also cast cure spells on your NPC, but GA spells will not effect them either, such as Curaga spells.
If you are not a mage, and your NPC gets low on health, start resting. Your NPC will rest with you
You can cure them with these macro’s
/ma “Cure”
/ma “Cure II”
/ma “Cure III”
/ma “Cure IV”
/ma “Cure V”
I have never casted anything beyond cure 3 on mine there is no point unless your wanting to take there hate
Leveling your NPC & weapon upgrades

WEAPON SKILLS
if you selected the options for you npc to inform you of there ready to do a WS . then you can easily WS (Weapon Skill) with them. they gain TP just like they would normally with the weapon if a war used it. and they will use there TP when it hits 100+ with or with out you and the WS they use are the Ws of the weapon of that level
LEVELING YOUR NPC
Leveling your NPC is very easy they are by default lvl 30 and if your current job is 30 or above they will stay at there default level but if you change jobs to a lvl 5-30 job they will change levels to match yours.
They gain XP differently than us . mine has leveled while I wasn’t fighting anything I was running to attack another monster and the NPC leveled before I hit the new mob and has once leveled while killing the monster. No one know exactly how the NPC gains xp or at what levels but I have had good results when taking them to a place were there level is the place were they can gain XP such as East Altep, Kazham, Attawa chasm and the surrounding areas around Jueno. Mine has leveled every other day since I have started using it.
APPERANCE UPGRADES
Apon calling the NPC 20+ times without dropping a pearl your npc will have a new Option Appearance. option
As of right now mine only has the headgear option and as far as I have seen you can ask her to change it and the next time you call them they will do so. As far as wearing helmets I haven’t seen mine wear any I change this option every day and still haven’t seen a helmet style on mine only ribbons so far. But ill keep trying
ARMOR
any time when you call your NPC they will be wearing different armor. Mine has changed armor at least 15 times. Its is purely random. Mine ran around in mithral body armor and female panties for a week then went back to lizard armor. There armor doesn’t effect there defense. Mine has taken the same amount of damage no matter what she wears. The armor is just for show ATM SE might change this for the future.
