dont forget that sea may be open, idk if this is considered dungeon or not, but since lufaise is, it might be as well.

The armors seem to change at random from what Ive seen so far...

Monkari :
I believe that even though the GKT is a downgrade, the NPC still does more damage. This probably holds for the other weapons too, and the armors. As for them hitting 75, while this is a long ways off (if they choose to do genkais in singles), the only outdoors areas that are worthy of hitting 75 at are Terrigan, Ru Aun, and Lufaise, I would think... and mnk can solo DC-T pots in Ru Aun.

npc's are not summonable in sky

Demetrius* :
npc's are not summonable in sky

I am aware of this... My comment was referring to Goku's comment on 'what if the cap goes to 75', and in terms of areas that could potentially be opened to NPC summoning. Ru Aun was just on my list of areas that could be added, to keep to their outdoor trend.

i don't think that'd ever happen, cause then people would be summoning npc's during god fights ;o

I actually think that'd be a good idea. You can only have them out for maybe 1, 2 god fights max (ok.. 3 if you're crazy fast and want to run?), they do take up spaces in your alliance, and it's not like you'd have an alliance of 75 NPCs.. they aren't THAT easy to level, what with the exp/time restriction per summon. Plus, once they die, you're out one member anyway, since you can't raise.

Although you couldn't put them out vs Kirin, that'd be nice to see.. their acc really owns, so they might be able to melee for some damage >.>

Npc's arent smart. They wouldnt sc with each other well. Gimme a human player over an npc any day on a god, unless theres just an extra space...

Has anyone done a study about what exactly makes a NPC level? Mine almost never levels after a fight. It's either at the beginning of a fight, when I cure him after a fight, or right when he depops. It makes me think that every time you interact with him, he gains a little bit of exp, making this more and more like a tamagochi....

They gain xp after killing mobs which would give xp at their level. Your npc is just leveling at different times due to lag or coincidence.

I was fighting mobs nonstop leveling mine, they usually leveled after the mob's dead body vanished. As for summoning them vs gods, it's not unusual to fight gods with slightly less than a full alliance sometimes, I'd think. It'd be worth it for the fun factor, don't you think?

(Quoting Myself)
Just a few idea. Since SE announced they will add some mod. for the NPC, and a Genkai 1, I was wondering what they could do...?

Add TNL of the NPC. And also, how many EXP does s/he win per fight.
Add HP / MP / TP on your screen. Or at least make something similar as etc. like BST's command.
Be able to change Gears and Weapons like a regular player. So far, NPC change his/her gear without any different of DEF / STR / etc.
Change some areas like Lufaise where you should be able to call your NPC.

SE still need to add TNL and EXP won per fight.
They put a HP bar, nothing much.
Said system gears would better.
Some areas are now available to your NPC.

Anyone tried Genkai 1 yet?

Well, I know for a fact you can call them in KRT. I levelled mine there yesterday on dire bats. My guess is that you can take them in dungeons now but not BCNM arenas, level capped areas, and possibly still unlockable areas (i.e., Tu'lia, Tavnazia, Lumoria).

I have completed the new quest Luto gives you. I think it's the Genkai quest but I'm not sure yet. All I got was a message saying basicly my bond with the NPC has strengthened.

Info on the quest:
Talk to Luto in Upper Jeuno. Luto asks you to goto the library in Windurst. This would be the Opistery(sp) in Windust Waters. Talk to the taru inside the east room of the Opistery. After the cutscene you are asked to bring 6 food items: white bread, whitefish stew, windurst salad, bison steak, icecap rolanberry, and San d'Orian tea. After trading the items to the taru, return to Jeuno and talk to Luto for another cutscene. After the cutscene, goto Port Jeuno and find a Mithra NPC nearby the Home point crystal (sorry this is all from memory so I don't know any NPC names >_<). Quest over! ^^

Hope this helps!

It's actually just first quest (Past Reflection) out of 4 new ones available from Luto Mewrilah.
1. Speak with Luto Mewrilah
2. Speak with Tosuka-Porika in Windurst Waters North section library.
3. Trade the following to Tosuka-Porika:

White Bread
Whitefish Stew
Windurst Salad
Bison Steak
Icecap Rolanberry
Sandoria Tea

4. Talk to Luto Mewrilah
5. Talk to Khumo Daramasteh in Port Jeuno @ J-8

After that you should receive Genkai'ish quest from Luto again. How to trigger that I haven't yet solved tho looked EVERYWHERE... ; ;
Other 3 following quests are - Blighted Gloom, Chameleon Capers and Regaining Trust.
