[red]I. INTRODUCTION[/red]

Well obviously there has been one too many guides on video making and none in my opinion have been of any use to the players of Final Fantasy XI , but that will all change soon. Hello everyone I am Kimera of Kimera Productions with seventeen highrated videos and I will be explaining how to create , mix , and finish videos. Have fun with the guide!

II. TOOLS
[/red]

There are many tools for making videos but here are some I would strongly reccomend.

a. First and foremost most people do not like to pay for their programs so here is a good filesharing network to download programs. www.limewire.com

b. I would suggest out of all the tools out there to use Windows Movie Maker to edit all clips , and videos due to its user friendly enviroment. Another plus about this program is it is pre-installed into your PC

c. Another option would be Adobe Premiere although I do not use this it does have some nifty effects but in my own opinion it is not worth it. www.adobe.com

d. An amazing recording video program would be that of "Fraps" which is downloadable cracked for full versions on Limewire and Kimera Productions but if you wish to download it and buy it legally visit www.fraps.com

[orange]
III. PREPERATION
[/orange]

a. Choose and open your programs and prepare to begin making your first video! Minimize your editing program and open "Fraps" for example.

Once you have fully configured Fraps or another program minimize it and open the program you wish to start recording from and a yellow number will appear normally in the upper right hand corner representing the number of "Frames per second" which basicly means how laggy your video will be.

0 - 10 HORRIBLE (Delete any recorded videos with this)

15-20 SLIGHT LAG (Delete any recorded videos with this)

25-30 AVERAGE (Average FFXI Quality)

Some other programs may have the following

50 - 200 WONDERFUL

300 - 999 SMOOTH AS WATER

Now that you are ready prepare for some fustration and excitment no one said this was a walk in the park on a fall day.

[orange]
IV. HOW TO RECORD QUALITY VIDEO
[/orange]

First and foremost always in FFXI have /names on as well as Scroll Lock when not in a ballista 1v1 match or a cutscene. Here is an example video CLICK HERE

Pay close attention to how I have scroll lock on when observing fights and off when 1v1 although /names is on only because everyone gave me permission to have their name viewed so remember to [red]ask[/red] everyone there.

Special Recording Style....

You may want a little more experience before attempting this but here is a look on dynamic styles which I myself am still learning but it can make some amazing effects if used properly CLICK HERE

[green]V. FINDING THE RIGHT MUSIC[/green]

This is more than likely one of the shortest sections...

PERFECT MUSIC!! CLICK HERE

HORRIBLE MUSIC!! CLICK HERE

Use music to match the theme or your video will be junk.

[black]
VI. HOW TO PROPERLY USE TOOLS
[/black]

a. You may experience errors with your programs which will later be discussed. Upon facing critical errors either restart your PC.

b. When using Windows Movie Maker remember not to drown your video in effects, make sure to keep it to 2-3 diffrent effects tops.

[blue]
VII. PARODY/COPYRIGHT LAWS
[/blue]

a. This is very important and you CAN be sued your ass off if not listened to.

1. Must give music author credit
2. Can not share the ripped music what so ever
3. Can not use it to make money or you have to buy a license from the record company.
4. Suggested not using the full song.

[sea]
VIII. PUTTING YOUR VIDEO TOGETHER
[/sea]

Now this what makes your video a hit or a drop and I will say this will take anywhere from 15-30 minutes for a average video and 45 minutes to 1 hour for a high quality video.

HIGH QUALITY -- CLICK HERE

LOW QUALITY -- CLICK HERE

when starting a video making sure you insert a title and the author OR if you have a company just a simple image lengthed in time from 3-5 seconds maximum , no one likes to watch a logo forever.

b. Make sure you cut clips by dragging it over with your mouse and using fade ins and outs when nessesary and you will come out with a High Quality video if you just push junk in there you will get the same back so practice and don't give up.

[orange]
IX. TRIAL AND ERROR
[/orange]

I assure you , you WILL have errors such as missing music and wrongly compiled videos such as THIS video which will be up at 4:41 PM EST 08/03/05 make sure to take a look so you know not what to do.

[purple]
X. SAVING THE VIDEO
[/purple]

I MUST MUST MUST MUST insist you use a CD to save your files or the size of the videos will add up to overweilming numbers. You can buy some CDs from Best Buy for $10 for like 100 so not too expensive.

[red]
XI. REVISING AND EDITING
[/red]

Save your video and WATCH it start to end twice and EDIT it for all that it needs!

[sea]XII. COMPRESSION[/sea]

Compression is a big part of making a video it decides if the person wants to wait on your video to download or say omfgwtfbbqleeroyjenkinsbbqpwnage>< you dont want them to say that <.<. As far as good programs go here is the list...

Virtual Dub - Never personally used it but by reading reviews it is an amazing compression program. http://www.virtualdub.org/

However my compression program comes with my editor ^^

Windows Movie Maker - By saving it , it compress's your video to a nice size as a matter of fact http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...oviemaker2.mspx

it records the window that is currently open , and starts recording by a set key for example mine is insert and you press insert again to turn it off and as far as quality goes stick to Fraps unless you're willin to dish out $120

it will be laggy but the recorded should not be , if so you may want to either upgrade RAM or close as many programs as you can
