Quick question:
After saving my movie with Windows Movie Maker, and I go to the properties of the file, what should it say under type of file?
Is it good to upload if it says Windows Media Audio/Video file?

Kimera...i have a few things for you...
1) good guide for beginers...but just that...i'll bring up a few issues for you to think about if you want to make them more advanced
2) Windows Movie maker is a very good program for beginers who have never touched video before because it's so simple to use...
-It is also good for anyone as for quick job (such as simply taking a small portion of video from a larger one)...
-one or two of its effects are unique... but other than that... you are cheating yourself by not using a better program such as Adobe Premiere (if you have the comp power for it that is)
3) also...unless you really want to show one fight in particular, watching an entire melee fight can loose interest (although there is such an interest in ballistas that most people still enjoy them)
-there are 2 ways you can fix this and which way you choose depends on the style of video you want to do... but either way...in today's video production...unless action (movement) is taking place...people loose a bit of interest
A) -you can speed up the segments during each fight that the melees aren't doing anything (waiting for their weapon to hit)... i know this takes a lot of tedius work, but it really makes the fights more apealing especially when you're waiting for a DRK to swing a scythe
-as you do more video you will really start to notice inactivity (not that you aren't experienced)
-you can also do more of a music video style aproach... you take segments of a lot of action... and take all of those clips and match them to the music, while still giving the viewer a sense of place...really people just want to see cool stuff
-in this style you must remember that the video is an instrument of the music... making the sounds you hear more flashy...always lay down audio before video here... and as a rule everywhere else (any video studio will tell you this)
-this is not usually the style to use if you want to focus on certain players and their skills or rivalries...
-btw...if you ever choose this one...don't be a fool and try to match appropriate clips to the lyrics... only match clips to vocals (as in match clips acording to sound...not writing) you make think it sounds creative to match "let the bodies hit the floor" openning w/ shots of ppl dying...but i can assure you it sounds much better to use it as a fade in/fade out rinse repeat to establish scenery (for lack of a better word)
C) -a third possible option if you don't want to do the above said, is to try moving the camera around during inactivity
as for your videos, aside from the above suggested improvements, i like them...i like the tendancy to use the "Film Age" effect, it works w/ your style... also i like your camera work...
i hope you take time to read all of this long post b/c i think it would really help you and any potential video makers out there

I just spent a couple hours editing down my maat recording and get this:
I've tried saving to different directories, using different names, and I haven't moved/renamed/deleted any of the files used in the timeline. I restarted to make sure the files weren't already being used by another program. I also have about 6 gigs free and the estimated output size of the video is under 60 megs.
Any ideas?
edit -- Looked around online quite a bit and apparently this is a really common problem with this software. Nobody seems to have a solution, but I did manage to find a little workaround:
When you're saving select "other options" after picking your filename and folder to save to. It should give you a pulldown menu. Select "DV AVI" from the list, and it will save what is basically a raw avi of your project. Huge filesize, but from there you can use virtualdub to compress it down to something more acceptable. This seems to be the only output option that works for many people.
This was my first time using Windows Movie Maker and I find that it's very easy to use and great for a quick and dirty edit, however it is very limited and over-simplified which can make it even harder to figure out your problem when something goes wrong. I'll be giving Adobe Premiere a go next time I need to do some editing.

I have a problem >.< No it's not mental, it's Fraps related.
I try to download the cracked version, and thus far not found one that works on my computer (it does the ol' "haha, I'm not gonna open for j00!" trick). So I was wondering is there any specific reason why this might be happening, and where I might be able to download a full version? I don't like recording for 30secs at a time -.-. Thanks in advance for replies ^^.

Hiya! just wanted to post my video that was inspired by this thread!
its a FF7 tribute of the game and the movie!
its also my very first atempt at any type of video and audio editing!
here is the link! http://files.filefront.com/One_Winged_Ange...;/fileinfo.html
o and i would love any and all feed back on my video!
I noticed when i saved it to my harddrive then watched it as an actuall Windows Media file
alot of the scenes werent smooth like they were when i was making the video they seemed choppy and i noticed two of my transition thingies didnt show up like the were when i was creating it. and also the picture quallity went down a little bit but kinda knew that was going to happen but when it asked me to choose how to save it to my hard drive i am perty sure i picked (for best quality) option.
any ways if there is any suggestions plz drop a reply!
