After seeing this nice feature on the Summoner's website, I figured I would compile a list of powers for Black Mages by level, only in my guide I am also including upgrades for viable subjobs as well as necessary equipment upgrades. Enjoy.

This list is meant to be impartial, so that intelligent people can make the decision for themselves and be informed of what abilities you receive and when, to aid in that decision.

Who are you to tell people what works and what doesn't work. Every viable subjob is situational, not everything can be defined by cookie-cutter standards. Let people play the way they want to.

Very cool Deacon. Chillax Goku, (God I hate DBZ) summoner is indeed situational. It's not uncommon for a single blm to sub summoner for a manaburn party. {Aerial Armor} {Stone Armor} {Yes Please!}

Additionally, you might like to add the Magic Attack Bonus Job Trait given by RDM sub. I might be wrong, but I was under the assumption that trait stacks with the BLM trait as well. In any case, it's a level 20 RDM trait so level 40 BLM

I can add it if you prefer, although many people claim that it does not stack with Traits that you normally get with your main job.

Take Clear Mind for example. I do not believe that Clear Mind traits given from subjobs do not stack with jobs that naturally get Clear Mind, primarily because by the time you get Clear Mind I from your subjob you already have Clear Mind II or III and would cancel it out. This is easily tested by taking off all of your gear and spending all of your MP, then see how much MP you gain back per tick with a Clear Mind subjob vs. a job that does not offer Clear Mind. If the first MP-per-tick is greater than the latter, then yes Clear Mind does stack.

The Red Mage subjob does offer a little bit more INT than a White Mage subjob, which I think might be just enough of a damage modifyer to confuse people into thinking Magic Attack Bonus does stack. I know this has been tested extensively, but if anybody wants to review their own findings (with no gear on) then feel free to post about it here.

the attack bonuses of the same tier don't stack.

ad hominum, Magic Attack Bonus I and II from RDM don't stack on top of BLM ones of the same power.

Same way War doesn't get extra attack/defense bonuses from subbing drk/pld.

As stated, test it with clear mind. a 75 blm will gain the same amount of mp per tick with any sub used.

:yes I like this list a lot, it'll make finding some things a LOT easier. Oh and simplified, he means learning Bio II with the /RDM is obsolete since you'll have it already.
