I was thinking, it would take alot of additions to the game. If you had a master BLU that asked you for certain items that certain mobs dropped, and would then reward you by using the ability against you or just teaching it to you. That way you would be able to learn spells and abilitys that the mob casts only on its self, and make them rare/EX so you had to farm them.

I think it's only going to be 1 attack learnable from each mob type, based on ffxi tradition and general balance issues.
So far the only ones we know are spider web and heat breath. I'm really thinking AoE debuffs are gonna be one of BUMs unique points. Maybe they'll be great crowd control specialists. Just think...

Level 5 Petrify
Envoutment(AoE silence from coarses)
Spider Web
AoE Blind from antlions
Lowing(AoE plague, buffalo do it)
Curse(-ga, from ghosts)
Bubble Shower(AoE STR down from crabs)
Cold Wave(AoE Frost from snolls)
Mysterious Light(AoE gravity + dmg from pots)
Sweet Breath/Sheep Song(hey they gotta have a sleepga if they're gonna be crowd controllers)
Dispelling Wind
Frightful Roar(AoE defense down from taurus)
Mow(AoE dmg + poison from taurus)
Roar/Dread Shriek(AoE paralyze)

Also their nitch may be certain status effects that right now only mobs have access too, petrify, curse, plague, etc(some come as additional effect from weapons but those are far from reliable).

i bet u need to dispose some attacks for some others, like max 10 learned abilities.. or less
