IF there are two new jobs (I said IF, so untie your panties), and the 2nd job is in fact some kind of Geomancer/Elementalist job (IF IF IF!), I'd combine them in a second.

I'de say it depends on which abilities you're gonna use

If you're gonna use Fire Breath or Spider Web like that one in the vid, I'de have to say /blm for INT boost if it comes down to that.

Sickle Slash/Death Scissors I'de probably end up subbing WAR or DRK for

It just depends what role they fill in a party, then they'll use the same sub as other jobs in that role.

Melee DD with a few tricks on the side-War sub.(Not nin)

Tank(Unlikely)-War.

Nuker-IF enemy skills are affected by magic attack bonus blm. Otherwise whm because it just offers so much.

Support-Whm. God I hope if it's a support job they give it something to refresh or dispel. Only room for one support job a party and if you can't do that...

Blue mage probably have weak attack abilities against any mob VT and above, those attack might get resist easily. If you look at some of the WS from mob (eg: Sickle Slash), they don't really do that much damage, coz they are like 7 levels above you when u're leveling off them. So for a blue mage ability to hit an xp level mob might be tough... and those ability might also be limited with a time limit similar to smn ... so ....

I will personally MPK each and every single BLU/WHM I see when it's released.

We don't need more healers.

If you're on Bismarck and you have the balls to go /whm... you gonna get raped. So bad.

Personally I think there's only three possible subs
if it works with mp (which it almost certainly will), then /whm for na spells and extra curative abilities. blue mage will probably only get healing breeze for a good healing spell, and that's not enough to backup heal and would probably get a decent amount of hate at a pretty high mp cost. Without whm sub it'd be like a blm/smn >.>
if it works with tp then it'd be warrior for berserk and double attack shenanigans
if they decide to raise the level cap to 80, then probably rdm for convert
That's my two cents anyway

If their spells use TP then wouldnt samurai be the best sub? I just hope its not another smn type job, thats gets invites to main heal because there are no whm seeking, the other job however will be the most interesting for me. Maybe this NPC quest that we have been experimenting with over the last couple of months, is a pre-cursor to a job that uses a similar way of levelling. Instead of Bst where you charm a mob "sic" it on mobs then finish it off, maybe you actually have a permanent "pet" that you need to take care of and equip.

If they use TP then since the abilities would work like weapon skills, berserk and double attack for more damage would probably be better than meditate. And does subbed sam still give 100% tp with meditate?

depends if the mob moves will use TP or MP (most likely latter)
depends what the moves mods are also (int, vit, etc.)

gonna try blu/mnk for 1-10 + meat kabob. go go!

then blu/rdm or blu/[insertmeleejobhere]

meditate sub for samurai gives you 60tp.

I'll try Blu/whm from Lv1-12 before I decide on whats a better sub, I read on some JP site it said blue mage uses MP (Not sure how true this is), if so, whm cure will not get resisted and might be the best sub coz of the -na series spells. Besides, any job (except whm) is more effective soloing from 1-12 with whm sub. And i'm "guessing" that SE won't make blue mage so they can spam their abilities one after another, since abilities doesn't require any "casting" time or will not be inturrupted like casting a spell, so there might be something like a time restriction similar to a smn bloodpacts.

IF it is like a time restriction thing and IF using MP, subbing whm will make blue mage more useful to the party in between abilities. I guess it might be similar to a rdm and blm, except using those abilities-spells to do physcial damages instead of magical damages ( <.<..... just like an avatar - elemental bloodpacts).

If so, how long can the Blu/[insertmeleejobhere] MP last if he/she melees the whole fight? If the blue mage melees the whole fight, and left only a little MP for abilities use, why not just invite a true melee to deal damage since using 1 ability in a fight won't make much of a difference against mobs which are 7+lvls higher than you?

I hope blue mage won't falls into the same category as a smn... coz it is a failure (IMO)

I do not see the sense of subbing whitemage to a job that could be used as a dd/debuff of sorts. Sorta what SE had planned ninja to be.

Most the of abilities i can see bluemage using are dd/debuff, with the curing coming from photosynthesis, Dahmel wind thing, and I dont know what else.

You could sub whm on what could be a dd/debuf and doom yourself to mediocre curing and debuff/damage. Then you would just be another summoner who is forced to cure, with less mp, that gets to cast buffs when pact timers are up.

Then again, this is a silly discussion. Bluemage isnt even availible to play yet, no way of telling what jobs will make a good subjob.
