I am at level 5 and am a monk on Unicorn. I always hear its so fast ot get to lvlv 15 as a monk. In about 30 minutes I was able to get around 800 XP or a little more. Is this way to slow? If it is, then how can i go faster? I use the /ja "Boost" macro included with /wait 15. I have a tp macro too. My hand to hand is lvl 14. Im in Windurst area. Thanks

mmmm...well I was able to get to level 7 monk in about an hours time, but that had a war sub on it. Monk I think is actually one of the funner(it might as well be a real word people) jobs to level as far as the starting jobs go. Depending on how much you play you could get to level 15 in a week or two (for me getting thief to 15 took about 5 days woo hoo treasure hunter!) However, you're new and with no sub I think you're doing okay.

best thing to do is: do not party until lvl 11 or 12.. stay in E or W sara and once u get above lvl 10. head to canyon...but don go in to far...monk is extreme easy to level...just dont party until later

just chain kill easy cons, < lvl 10 i've found that for a melee it's faster exp just to chain kill easy cons

hmm my opinion is you party as soon as you're level 10 and chain lizards at valkrum or go to palbarough mines.. that will get u leveled to 20 pretty fast..

get a good party going(full party without a full pt don't go to valkrum) and start killing lizards at valkrum. If some people are not familiar with the place I suggest teaching them which one to not pull.. which one links, which one agros and stuff like that..
If lizards are too hard hunting sheeps or gobbies in the highlands still give you 100 exp or so.. then crabs.. then pugils..
If you're not from bastok.. I have no idea where to hunt.. I heard there's a place similar to highlands somewhere.. ^^;

If you're going to be levelling in Windurst then after level 10 the Maze is the place to go. A full party can chain IT Maze Makers for massive EXP. Trust me. I went from 10-16 in there with my Taru Warrior.

the maze is the way to go. I've known lvl 8 whms(with blm sub) to solo IT makers, with very little deaths, getting up to lvl 10 in a matter of minutes(30 at most, if the area is packed). They drank yagudo drink(or maybe pineapple juice...dont remember), then once they hit 10, they got in a party. As much xp as you get soloing them, it' rather difficult and tiring, and much funner with a party. Myself, I just solo up to 10(8-10 I absolutely abhor...no fun at all >.<), then go to maze, ride that until 16, then head out to valkurm till 20. That's where I am at this point, but I plan on riding qufim for the next few levels, as soon as my sub is up to par, and I get the chocobo quest.

I've gotten to level 13, and now im wondering if i should still hunt dhalmels in tahrongi
or go right to maze. It appears that most people suggest goign to the maze so... It seems
hard for me to ever find a full party with a good whm and war. I've only done it once and
the war was a japanese guy who we had major problems talking to. It was a great time in the
maze where we went but i died twice. Is dhalmel hunting still a good idea or does it just
give bad xp after 12? I'm so upset that I still have five more levels until i get my sub
and i have all the sub stuff already
. Anyone on Unicorn can give me an idea of how to
find whms/wars better? This is a scattered topic post of mione

From what
ive found. unless you a mage, sometimes its hard to get in a pt in the maze until about lv
10+ as a war (and by then its good to just go to valkrum or the like)
Most of my
leveling in the maze was with groups of nukers. just stand back and nuke till its dead. If a
war goes after a worm under lv10, he gets the crap beat out of him. I think Melee does
better in the canyons at those levels.. when leveling my sub, i took myself to Valkrum at
lv9 and had a pt before I could get past the docks. ><
Just for fun im thinking of
leveling monk as a sub for farming. heh.. a whm with boost.. hmmmm... probably not as good
as it sounds. :/

Wow, so valkrum dunes is like a great place for a melee class to level? I knew I
shouldn't have started in windurst. To bad, ill just take the boat!
