Here are some screenshots of the ultimate gil buyer on Odin, Meronmemomo.

I dont know why this is posted here. Ah well...

He's a reincarnation of Evildoer isnt he? Definately a gilbuying, thieving player who keeps renaming his character thinking he can actually run away from this reputation. Well known on Odin, stole a Kirin's Osode. Japanese players on the server know all about him as well.

Still, I cant believe he has so much... worse than I thought. :x

Or maybe he has a 100 craft and two mules with 100's too? All that stuff would have cost him around $10,000+ irl...

Yeah, when you buy gil, you get rich.
But you can't buy gil to make you a Billionaire.
That'd cost way too much.

If you craft enough you can pretty much do anything, maybe someone has been playing for a while and knows how to play the AH?

Maybe he makes that money from people who actually buy stuff for 99 billion gil (plus all that tax, of course). He never sells anything on the AH unless it's to himself.

More likely, I think he buys gil and is shameless about it. Proud, even. He doesn't care about his reputation. He doesn't do anything that would require anyone to like him. Bascially, all he does is play Ballista. And the worst part is, for all that great gear of his, he's not even very good. If you're on the opposing team he's easy prey. If you're on his team he's a liability.

I don't think he could have bought that much gil. The only way I think he could concievably could have earned all that gil, and still bought gil, was if he invested his bought-gil into a mega-profit craft like Goldsmithing and gotten it to 100+3, then started several mules and gotten a few 100+3 crafts on them as well.

Or, he's a shameless millionaire in real life and bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of gil. Which is wholly retarded.

Kali is a friend of mine, and in my LS on Hades >.> And she's 98.1+3 Goldsmithing, with most subs to 60, and I know she doesn't buy gil. To amass her fortune, you'd have to spend like 15k irl, so yeah I just don't see that happening.

FFXI is a big game. And I'm sure somewhere out there, a rich dude has an account. Millionaires needs entertainment too! Trust me, I've seen rich dudes. They spend money on the stupidiest stuff. Online games wouldn't surprise me.

But still, goddamn that's alot of goods.

That asshat is jacking up prices across the board on purpose. He did it to speed belt, which last sold (from him to him) for 110 million. Even a survival belt...they're now 400k, which is well past what i was saving up to buy it with. And guess who sold to himself for 400k, twice? It's shit like this that makes people buy gil and quit. I'm leaning towzard the latter.
