if u have a holiday item form last year you can get it again if its in storage at the new holiday npc storage people... i had my pumpkin head II in storage in npc and got a second one from npc O_O

None of the cheap solutions that people used last year (mainly fruits from NPCs) do not work, mostly all the items in the 'Sweets' food list on AH work.

There is a 3 Item limit per vanadiel day, traded 99 chocolates and 99 cookies, got 3 items, havent been able to get one since.

yup, only items from sweets section of the AH listing will work, you can trade only one of each kind every vanadiel day, and i just got kiilled by Unut on the way to fafnir

did you trade a stack of 99 twice and get 3 items from 2 trades in one vanaday/

Very important note: if you have an item from this event in NPC storage, NPCs will give you the same item again, as if you do not have it. Despite the item being Rare/Ex, you will be able to obtain it. So make sure to take your event items out of storage so you don't get duplicates.

I instantlly NPC'd my new Trick Staff (I had thrown my old one away a long time ago), and was then given another one a few moments later.

This is how you do it
(*&*)Trade sweets(from food section) to NPCs in monster costumes.
(*&*)Everytime you trade a sweet to a Comstumed NPC they should give you something such a a costume etc.
(*&*) you can only trade 1type of sweet to a npc, such as you trade a ginger-bread man to a costumed npc and youll get something,if you trade it again they should just say "Thank you" and go on with your day, you need to trade them different sweets each time.
(*&*)Items:Pumpkin head, pumpkin head+1,horror head,Treat staff,Trick staff,Treat Staff II,Treat staff+1
(*&*)Moogles:nope no moogles(get over it)

Tried trading multiple Ginger Cookies to a costumed NPC... and got costumed as a skeleton. Only 1 cookie was taken.

Tried trading multiple Cinna-cookies of a roaming costumed NPC... and got costumed as a ghost. Only 1 cookie was taken.

Garlic Crackers

Garlic Crackers are sold by Ghebi Damomohe at the main desk of the Tenshodo shop, at (I-7).

They cost 4 gil each, stack to 99 and WORK for this event. That cuts your costs down to just 396 gil per 99 sweets. I suspect this makes them the cheapest possible sweet for this event.

How to get each Item

The Treat and Horror items are basically "HQ" versions of their Trick/Pumpkin counterparts, so:

• To get a Treat Staff, wear a Trick Staff.
• To get a Treat Staff II, wear a Trick Staff II.
• To get a Horror Head, wear a Pumpkin Head.
• To get a Horror Head II, wear a Pumpkin Head II.

To get the Trick and Pumpkin items, you're probably best off not wearing any of the Harvest event items.

One prize per Vana'diel Day?

I can personally disprove this - within an hour of the servers going up I had three of the eight items. "Thank you..." just seems to be the "Sorry, try again." message you get 95% of the time.

thought i'd compare some info!

1) i traded 1 cookie got the pumpkin head II
i traded a stack never got another item

waited til the next day
1) traded 1 rolanberry pie got costume
2) traded 5-6 cookies to another npc didnt get anything "thankyou"
3) traded another rolanberry pie and got my second costume

definately think this 3 day thing is true.
i followed a skull and traded CONSTANTLY to him, then at 0:00 or 0:01 i traded and got a orc costume, great 3 a day sigh
