Ryith :
I did all those in one day, but then the day after and the day after that ALL I GET IS COSTUMES for the first 3 different sweets that i trade per day, then just thank yous.... i tried trading a whole stack of garlic crackers and still nothing ; ; ive waitied around 6 in game days and traded 3 diff sweets per day, only getting costumes ; ; i talk to the NPC with no clothes on.... any hints? or is this really random un luckiness ; ;

Same for me i brought about 150k worth of sweets for 20k from someone who was fed up with the event it is about 10 diffrent items varing in price. 8 vana'diel days ive tried these items and nothing just "Thank you heres your award" or something likt that and just Tons Of Costumes i hope we can find the little sercret in here soon this event is starting to annoy me and backrupt me at the same time ^^

Does anyone know, for certain, if there is any rhyme or reason behind the halloween item drops?

"You need to wear a Trick/Pumpkin item in order to get the respective Treat/Horror item." is taken as read by the vast majority of players. So if you want Horror Head II, for example, wear your Pumpkin Head II when trading sweets.

I've been using 5 or so different sweets. Trading several stacks of each to a single NPC and receiving only "Thank You"s leads me to believe that there is a limit upon how many items you can receive in one day, despite what a few have said.

There seems to be a limit of 3 items per Vana'diel day (per sweet/city? That's the unknown bit). Dyire's first post mentions this.

I've also been getting a ton more costumes than items...

That's because the first time you trade each sweet each day, you get a costume. If you stick to the same sweet and repeatedly trade it, you'll only get a costume for the first one, and therein you'll either get "Thank you..." or an item.

I'm just wondering if anyone who's gotten all of the items can explain how they got them.

• Bought 2 stacks of Ginger Cookies before the server went down pre-event.
• Server came up, I logged into Bastok Mines and began trading.
• First NPC turned me into a Skeleton. I removed the costume and changed NPC.
• After a few trades I got my Trick Staff. I did not equip it. I changed NPC.
• A few trades later I got a Pumpkin Head II. I then equipped both Trick Staff and Pumpkin Head II, and changed NPC.
• After many more trades, I got a Treat Staff. I then unequipped my Trick Staff.
• Then I ran out of Ginger Cookies. Warping to Jeuno, I bought a couple of stacks of Garlic Crackers in case they worked.
• I boated to Windurst as that was the next ship leaving. My first trade got me turned into a Yagudo, confirming Garlic Crackers worked.
• Shortly afterwards I got my Horror Head II. I unequipped my Pumpkin Head II and changed NPC.
• Immediately afterwards I got my Trick Staff II. I changed NPC again.
• A while later I got my Pumpkin Head. I equipeed both the Trick Staff II and Pumpkin Head, and changed NPC yet again.
• The Vana'diel day changed. I got turned into a Dog on the next trade.
• Soon after I got my Horror Head. I then removed my Pumpkin Head.
• Much later (after about a stack) I finally got my Treat Staff II at around 15:00 of that day, getting me 8/8.

This at least supports the "Need Trick/Pumpkin equipped for Treat/Horror", "First sweet each day gets a costume" and "At least three costumes per sweet per day" things most people believe in.

Excellent. I did it according to what you did. The items I got did not exactly match the order you got it. But Horror Head and Treat Staff II were the final 2 items you will receive.

http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?foru...2857072;num=121 was what I wrote on day 1. I have since edited the post on how items are obtained as accurate as I could get.

I keep hearing about the [Treat Staff II +1] and even some of my friends online clame to have seen it. they said it can give you a warp 1 time every day forever.

not like the treat staff thats a efect warp or a treat staff II thats 1 warp every 120 hours its a Staff that gives you a warp every 24 hours and can never run out.
i believe my friends because there better then me:) and i want to know how to get the [Treat Staff II +1]

i have every item
List: Pumpkin head, Pumpkin head II, Horro head, Horro head II
List: Trick staff, Trick staff II, Treat staff, Treat staff II, Pitchfork, Pitchfork +1

Nonexistant.

Seriously. The reason we knew about the Pitchfork and Pitchfork +1 before anyone actually found them (and before the event was even /announced/ ) was because people have programs that can view the .dats downloaded in an update and create a list of all the new and changed items.

There was no Trick Staff II +1.

Another way of knowing: If there was, it'd be widely known on KI or Alla by now. The event has run for about a week now.

i've seen no Treat staff +1 on my server just pitchforks and the other items. I'm happy i got all the items though i dropped purposly the normal items e.g. Treat staff and pumpkin head 1.I dont seen any reason keeping the 1 items seen the 2 items either have a + onto that or some other stats.

The chance of getting certain times are random.

I've traded atleast 30k worth of sweets to NPCs, and have yet to get a Trick Staff II or Treat staff II, but when i logged on my mule and traded an Acorn Cookie to an NPC for the first time, I got Treat Staff II. The next day, logged on my mule and traded another acorn cookie and got the Trick Staff II.

Stupid Mule always gets all the good items. >.>

Ok, here's basically how you get everything:
(Note, not saying that I know exactly how event is settup, just what worked for me and got BOTH my characters 10/10 items easily).

Goto Lower Jeuno's Neptune Spire's Inn (aka Tenshodo). No Tenshodo access needed, it's the NPC right when you walk in. Buy a bunch of Garlic crackers (I know, not sweets, but they work). I bought 1000 of em (yes, literally 1,000 crackers), thats 10 stacks of 99, and at 4 gil each, it costs only 4k total. Now, goto any nation and settup a trade macro (/item "Garlic Cracker" ). Use it once, and youll get a costume. Take it off, and spam the macro. May take a while. Sometimes i got an item after 20 trades, other times after 150 trades. Unequip every halloween event item to get the Trick/Pumpkin eitems. Equip the Trick/Pumpkin items to get the Treat/Horror items. Make sure you DO NOT put the halloween evenmt items in the storage NPC, as you can get multiples. As for the Pitchfork and Pitchfork+1, Dyire's 1st post on this topic is the best info. I used it and got them easily. Some info such as Pitchfork location was different for me, but the general tactics are perfect.

I hope this helps alot and gets everyone their 10/10 items before the event is over. Take care everyone and best of luck! biggrin.gif:D:D

Have something to add for the Bastok Markets Pitchfork +1.

Followed the OP for the "change to goblin" roaming NPC. But, for me,. the J-10 stand didn't give me the pitchfork +1.

Two characters, one Bastok and one Windurst, both got normal Pitchfork in South San d'Oria, and the festival stand that gave me the Pitchfork +1 was the one closest to the Port zone (near the magic shop) in G-4 (I believe that's the correct grid).
