I find most people level up their war to 30 and then use it as a sub job... Please! We need more high level warriors... you've no idea how useful you get.

1. That accuracy up buff job ability at 45... very good

2. Versatility... Samurai skillchain master? I think not. Good WARs carry at least 5 weapons with all skills near max. If a war is in my party we can do any skillchain pretty much.

3. Versatility... Damage dealer? Very good damage. Tank? Make great tanks... their AF gives the most +enmity (more than pally) and they have awesome defense and offense~

People don't realize how useful WARs are at around 50~75.. I know it's a little slow past 30 but stick with it... Very worthwhile.

P.S. one more incentive is that you get parties in a flash because you can do anything that doesn't do with magic. the 2 high level WARs in my LS have only been partying in LS only parties but they still get a lot of invites.. last time one of them put on seek flag was when he deleveled.. got a party in 3 minutes

The thing is...I believe that people choose their jobs based on what they see in themselves. I might be completley off, but this is the case for me...

I personally have a desire to protect everyone, and the desire to destroy everything around me. So...its either White mage or Black mage, or Pali or Dark. I personally dont want ot be a mage ^^;

The thing about my situation is that I dont desire to do both at the samet ime...thats counter protective...hence the reason why Warrior doesnt work for me...

And im going to assume most people feel the same way, but not on a personal level. Warrior has both pretty good defense, and pretty good attack...but most people feel as if they want to protect, or destroy. Most dont want to do both, and if they do...they probally are WHM/BLM

So yea, thats my look on things. Truthfully, Im sure High Level warriors are great, and ill probally continue to level my warrior with my growing linkshell. The thing is, im sure most people feel the same way aabout being a warrior...they like it till they can become more personalized...

But i agree...it would be nice to see more high level warriors

High level warriors get frustrated b/c Pallys are better at tanking and DRKs are better at damage. So why be an in-between? heh You get to a party an expect to tank, but theres a Pally there. Then you watch the DRK hitting for alot more than you. Fantastic... Plus the AF body is nasty looking! :cry

Samurais can do their own skillchains. I think that would classify them as the skillchain masters... hehe

Actually WARs do more damage or the same as DRK. Plus they have agressor (inc acc) and war cry. They also can peel hate off 75 PLD with their AF on so I don't see where you get this bad tank idea.

I've been in a party with a WAR and DRK level 60 and 61 respectively and the WAR did more damage with Gaxe than DRK with Vassago's Scythe and hit more often. There is a reason WARs get invites with minutes of putting up tag ~

Lets take your example with your 60s friends, and look at their highest damage possible weapons...

Great Axe - Forseti's - damage:78 - delay:489
Scythe - Vassago's - damage:84 - delay:528 +5 accuracy

Now add Spells on top of that + Attack Bonus + Souleater.... unless the DRK is asleep, he'll be doing alot more damage.

And show me a warrior /ws that compares to Guillotine please.

Sure Warriors get accuracy bonus and war cry, but thats not even close. Its well known that BLMs and DRKs do the most damage in the game. Matter of fact, Ive played both DRK and Warrior, I know pretty well the damage difference,

And I never said warriors were bad tanks, dont misquote me. I said they are not as good as pallys for tanking, and please dont debate that.

The thing is...They cant tank as well as a pali, cant do as much damage as a DRK

However, i will agree that they are versatile. They should be kept as subs IMO. The abilities they get are nice boosts for the player, but not alot of them are that significant to be job defying, or even close to being as strong as its dark and light counterparts...

I think SE should rethink the Warrior class, and maybe make it more defining.

ooh ya, forgot that one. That one extra damage though does not make up for Attack Bonus and Souleater. Its not even close.

Ozzn stated my case exactly. They are well known facts too. Warriors are a good class, but if you wanna excel in a certain area, you need to go another route. Offense is DRK, Defence is PAL.

Not only does the WAR do more damage, he hits more often also ^^;

and you are right that if DRK stacks all 3 buffs he does more damage but souleater is not good for parties... BTW this WAR has DRK subbed so he has all buffs except soul eater...

Reason souleater is bad in PT is because 1. it takes away HP 2. it is the equivalent of about 3 provokes just popping it.

3 buffs? Attack Bonus is not a buff, its a trait. Souleater is not good for parties??? So im supposed to solo with it. Yes, good idea.... Yes it taunts, thats why Pallys provoke and cure themselves, and get back aggro easily. Oh it takes away HPS??? pmg I better not use it in a party. Please, we are there for damage.

I guess all us that play DRKs are idiots, as we took this class because it does such high damage, yet warrior does more..... wait, no. Please Play a darknight and a warrior before you make damage comparisons.

Setlle down... Warriors get attack bonus trait also... plus ok ~ use soul eater you'll do more damage than the warrior. For 1 minute. Then you have a 5 minute recast. Plus once a WAR is 60 your point is moot since he gets soul eater also. All I'm saying is souleater is not used in PTs much unless it is before Guillotine... I don't know any DRK that just pop it for normal play.

BTW I AM talking from personal experience. I have two friends in my dormitory that are 60 WAR and 61 DRK... even the DRK concedes that the WAR does more damage than him (albeit a little stubbornly) and it's obvious the WAR hits more often... Perhaps you'll feel better after you realize it Don't worry though, there are not many WARs to compete with once you hit 50~60 so everyone thinks DRK is better.

i lvled WAR to 30 to do DRK quest, i hit for more damage in low lvls than i did low lvl WAR, and the attack bonus's help, i like DRK better, besides, WAR is just boring, at least DRK has magic, everyone overlooks the magic, yeah so its low lvl spells, but its still fun to cast while PLD has hate and you are free to nuke, its just fun to cast as you stand in front of a mob while you meele...

The thing is...most of them are pretty even...Actually from what i hear Warrior, Pali and darks are pretty close in likeness till level 30, when they start to diverge alot more. They become more personalized, however I tend to think Warriors are still kinda bland...

From what I hear, after level 30, your gonna want a paladin, because they will start taking off with defense, and it will be a pretty obvious difference, not like under 30 where my Warrior/mnk can match most pali (humes) defense.

So yea...I dunno..thats just from what ive heard, im still pretty new to to the game
