I think in order to 'mod them out' they'd first have to be 'modded in' by Square.

If they post the info that the event is coming, usually the fact is the files are still in the game.

And I know theres been screenshots of gear posted before it was put in the game. ^^

Yup. Once we get the files on our computer from the version update, people can access them with model viewer. But knowing SE, there will be the big December update, then a tiny update just before the event happens (and about 50 updates, patches and downtimes in between). Likely just gonna be the santa hats again.

True but remember that before there wasn't a version update preceeding such events (like tha Harvest Festival with it's swimsuits). Here we have a version update all but directly preceeding the event so they probably don't have the files in place yet cause, well, they can wait to do that.

I just remember from a awhile back there was pics of armor and such before the actual event itself (And the patch).

If the items were already in the .dats, people would have known about it since the last update. lol

Obviously S-E wouldn't want to spoil the items that far in advance... There's almost ALWAYS an update right before an event, to add the event items.
