The announcements of Cooking's new Key Items, Stewpot Master AND Patissier, sure got my tummy-wummy rumbaruling! See how most of the new recipes were from Cooking and, thankfully, my Cooking mule's parkin' it at Cooking 99, I quickly stopped, dropped, and zipped on over to the welcoming wafts of the Cooking Guild to bring you all the new and wonderful things those folks were cookin' up! BTW, Gateaux aux Fraises proves that Rolanberries are the real life equivalent of big-@$$ strawberries! :boing And Buche au Chocolat is a really cute French dessert where they make a kind of chocolate and coffee "sponge cake" of sorts rolled up to look like a Yule Log. And all these stewpots are nothing more than a variation of the Japanese sukiyaki pot!

The recipe for Gateaux aux Fraises also has Selbina Butter x1. I spent a while trying to figure out why I couldn't make it before I found the recipe from an NPC.

The Buche au Chocolat has a low woodworking sub it would seem. I tried the synth 3 times at around 74 cooking and 0 woodworking, failed once and got .2 wood and .1 cooking skillups in all. Apparently the sub isn't high enough to worry about too much, but it's nice to know.

Haven't tried the Black Pudding, but I spent all day getting from 74 to 79.2 so I'm on my way to successfully synthing it. >.> Hoping to make them all by Christmas to give to friends. They seems to like it when I cook for them... ^^

You can sign these three Starlight cakes. I did it on the Buche au Chocolat but ran out of gp for the Gateaux aux Fraises. ^^;; But since they don't stack, feel free to sign away.

I noticed a new chocolate on the Windurst AH as well. Love Chocolate I think. Does anyone know anything about it? I'd love to give it a try, but couldn't find the recipe from the cooking NPC.

Icecap Rolanberry, Marron Glace, and Snoll Gelato now require Patissier?
Not that it matters to me since I have the key item already..
But I want to make sure I understand.

Icecap Rolanberry, Marron Glace and Snoll Gelato can be made with and without the Patissier key item.
If you use the old recipe without the key item you may get Snowy Rolanberry, Bijou Glace and Sub-Zero Gelato (HQ1 version)..
If you use the new recipe with the key item you may get Flurry Courante, Squirrel's Delight or Seraph's Kiss (HQ2 version), but not as an upgrade for the HQ-version of the old recipe, but instead. Stats are slightly better than the HQ1-version but not so much better.

Anywho, is there anywhere other than the guild where you can get fish stock? (And other than the AH)

Looks like you can buy the fish stock only at the guild. (=/)

Plus, I found this out accidentally a long time ago: if there's a particular item you want in auto-translate...

- If it's already in your inventory...
Just make a space, TAB (or whatever on PS2), scroll up (to go to the end of the list) where you'll highlight the "Item" option. Use the "Page Up" and "Page Down" keys to quickly navigate the list to the target auto-translated name.

- If it's not in your inventory...
Check out the Auction House and look it up the general area of the item (for example, just pull up the "Foods >> Sweets" list for "Love Chocolate). Then commence with the first option.
