Has anyone got this yet? I have a bastok christmas tree in my home nation (bastok) the smilebringer says the kids love me and she thinks Im great and its been like that now for awhile
do I need more festival fame or do I just wait?

i got the dream hat +1 after i had "the kidz love you" for 5 or 6 days in a row... only thing different here:

i had all 3 trees in my mog (sandy) and the present was lying under the windurstian tree

Hehe exactly what happened to me..I think the main thing about this year is you need all 3 trees in your MH and to Eladamri..there are loads of new poeple across each server along with people who did get a +1 last year so yeah.

yes, my moogle found it... you will find a special present in your inventory... go outside mog, use it and obtain your dream hat +1

Yep I just recieved my Dream Hat +1, had max kiddie fame in all 3 nations, and ive had all 3 trees in my mog since last year, I dont think it matters how long your tree has been in thou =P

You need all 3 trees but the moogles around towns sell them so you can just buy them.

I just placed the 3 trees in my MH in Windy but I've been having some trouble with this quest. I only ever got the NQ hat last year and it seems the 'Smile-Bringers' will only hand out 1 present a Vana day to me. How the heck can I get max Festival Fame with one present a day? (Assuming that's the same as last year's "caravans of joy" ranking) I'm stuck with "barrelfuls of joy," which for last year was 3rd to max.
Anyone else getting more presents a Vana day?

You buy the firework present from the moogles and spam the little kids with them. Nuff said, wait 4 days in game and your done.

Ah, thank you. You're sure it's not the "Present for the Kiddies" EX item? I'll give it a shot.

Edit- Yeah, they accept the Air Rider fireworks and thank me, however it now just says
"You've brought joy to the children of Vana'diel" instead of "...brought barrefuls of joy..."
Sounds like I have to start from scratch.

2nd Edit- Finally got the Dream Hat +1. Apparently the old fame ranking system is gone, it's only apparent from what the smile bringer says before he/she offers to port you, and I guess max is "The kids love you! Even I think you're great" or something to that effect. I didn't have to wait a RL day to get the hat, a game day later I came back and the MH moogle had the item "Special Present" waiting for me, which when used became a Dream Hat +1 in my inventory. Thanks for the help guys!

Alright, some of this information isn't totally correct. Here's what I did to get mine. I put my home nation's tree in my mog the first day of the festival, so by the time the quest was active, it had been there 3 RL days. I talked to the NPC in bastok, found a kid, gave them the present, then spammed three kids with fireworks until the wouldn't take anymore. At this point, the kids loved me and so did the NPC, so I talked to my moogle in bastok and got the present (i.e. dream hat +1).

So I can confirm you only need to do this in one city (I didn't do the event at all last year) and you do not need all three trees in your moghouse. Hope this helps.

You dont need all three trees! I had the windurstian tree from last year and it was the only one I had and i got it. All I had to do was start in my home nation and hand out 10 fireworks to a kid in each nation. When i went into my mog my moogle told me he found a present under my windurstian tree. I went out side and used it and it was i a firework, I thought i got ripped off but when i checked my inventory I had a dream hat +1. I did this all in 1 day.

Oh and the present is called "Special Present", and the Dream Hat +1 dispenses a random number of Ginger Cookies every 24 hours.
