It all depends what lvl you are and how much gil you got, also if you will have a steady income. Once you get in the higher lvls its going to cost a lot to lvl. At my lvl its like 100k loss each synth.

I'm only level 15 and I've already spent upwards of 100k in crystal cost alone. If you want to take a craft to 50+ and you don't have at least 1 mil. or a couple months to level it, try cooking or possibly alchemy.

Blacsmithing is the most profitable, however its the only craft that requires every other craft skilled to 60 as a sub. You cannot get Blacksmithing 0-100 without having alchemy/woodworking/goldsmithing/weaving alsoskilled as well since every damn recipe requires one or two of those skills. So its going to take a >LONG< time and cost you a fortune and a half.

Blacksmithing is not the most profitable guild, and I'm sorry, but Blacksmithing does not require a cooking sub. Try again.

Blacksmithing is like 4th or 5th, after Leather, Cloth and Gold, possibly Bone. The problem with Blacksmithing is that you can not get over the 30 HQ ratio on the good gear to make like Haubergeons.

smithing is a good guild yea... and if you learn to mine your ore it can be a very viable income source. But just like any other guild there are investment needed up front. And i'd say, you should have at least a couple million to get started in smithing. Get to around 30-40 shouldn't cost all that much if you're smart about what you're doing, then you can go mine and make ingots and sell for some income.
