...for lack of a better name.

I was inspired by the FFXI in RL thread to take real world pictures of places that look like Vana'diel zones and marry them to their respective mobs.

It's rather fun making these so I guess this is an ongoing project. It'd be nice to see other people's efforts with this as well.

Here are some of my initial results...

Nice, but for Tiamat, id either
A) Enlarge Tiamat
or
cool.gif Choose a smaller area.
The whole threatening aspect of Tia is the huge size. Massive. Looks fairly small in that area.

Those are excellent smile.gif Is that with regular old Model Viewer that you're getting those renders? I'm going to try my hand at some when I get home!

EDIT: That can't be model viewer. What 3D program are you using?

Omg! Selece, those are amazing!!

The 2nd from the top and the gobbue are my favs! The gobbue is now my desktop! ^^

Going with Flaconblade, the one with Tiamat looks a little off. But I don't think you made him too small. It's just that there's nothing else in the canyon to reference him with. So you automatically use the canyon walls. If you threw in some small little things here and there. It'd work perfectly. Just my 2 cents.

But keep it up!!!

I just grabba copy of 3D Studio Maxx 6 for myself. Gonna install and try some stuff for myself.

Very awesome shots. The first few are definately awesome. I dont see hwo you got such high def renders, but nevertheless...beautiful beautiful beautiful. Very true to the game, and very true in value and tones and feeling.

I agree, the goob needs to be touched up a bit to make it feel like hes apart of the world...

The reason why the beelte kinda seems out of place is because of the lighting on the beetle. Work with the shadows and lights a bit

The giant, i think the reason why it doesnt just fit in yet is because you need a cooler feel to him, maybe desaturate some of the green a bit, and dim it out a it....

Excellent idea, i love it, keep it up guys!!! So creative...makes me feel so useless ^^
