Get yourself a pair of those, and you can easily switch out those Aikido Koshita's for Melee Hose/Shura/Byakko Haidates(unless you don't have those pieces yet).

Did you cap counter merits yet? ^^

1) actually Melee Gaiters are macro onry, and yes i have them, and yes Rst. Sune-Ate+1 are better
2) i have shura haidate, but +2counter > +5str +7acc for soloing/tanking
3) no i havent capped counter merits yet, i havent done many merits im 3/4 crit and 2/8 h2h, thats it

I'm a bit skeptical on this. Mainly because when Warriors use Berserk with their Relic Boots and switch them out, the bonus goes away.


As for my latest accomplishment. I just bought Master Caster's Mitts(Outside own nation's control: AGI+2 Evasion skill +10) for my MNK/NIN set. I'm not sure what's more effective though, Ras. Tekko's Evasion +10 or the MC Mitts. :con

The extra attack given when you Boost with AF gloves (as opposed to boosting without) stays when you take the gloves off. The Chi Blast multplier also remains when you swap in your Devotee's Mitts right before you Chi. The Focus effect has been parsed to stay active when the crown is taken off after JA is activated.

I see no reason why Melee feet should be different.

ok bud, when other than when you use your counterstance macro, would you use them?

in ever instance other than this macro, theres something better:

1) xp - dune boots
2) solo/tank - rasetsu(+1), Temple Gaiters(another macro onry one)
3) chi - Suzy boots

MC Mitts > Rasetsu Tekko

And I'd rather have Melee Gaiters on than anything else when soloing/tanking something that can hit for a ton of damage quickly. HP is more valuable than people give credit for.

Melee Gaiters have no Subtle Blow.

They do have HP+4%, and Guarding skill +12, but no Subtle Blow.

I'd still use them for the HP bonus, but yeah.

Anyways, I'd still use them over Rasetsu in certain situations. But yes, Rasetsu Sune-Ate(+1) are nice for tanking. Not always the best, but always very nice to use.

the only reason im such a rasetsu+1 advocate is cuz ive recently been getting more into tanking and soloing, ever since getting melee gaiters

once i find another avengers, get rasetsu feet+1 ill have +12 counter always active, which is quite hot

why am i only getting hand + feet? cuz i think +10eva in ohat and SH are better than +1 counter in each spot, but for hand?

nothing remotely comes close to +11eva +3atk +1counter, and to me, the same is true for feet with +6eva +6atk +1counter...the +1counter alone makes it worth the extremely high sum ill pay for them, i mean, i dropped 18m on tekko+1 yesterday....but damn theyre hot XD every nin i know wants to kill me

And 18 mil for the Rst Tekko +1 is... well, it definitely sounds like it goes with this past christmas season's spirit with buying items for obscene amouts of money.

I just don't see how +1 counter is better than Enhanced Counterstance and HP+%(for defensive purposes). And I have been told the same thing, by the person who actually got me into Monk, about having to wear Melee Gaiters with Counterstance on in order to keep the enhancement to Counterstance going.

SH is 20m, okote are 15m, and based on the fact rasetsu items are 90+ cloth with 2 subs(i think), 18m isnt THAT bad, considering the only other two pairs ive seen in bazaars the last 4 days have been 25m+
