Not in this economy you won't. Unless your uncle owns a tech firm and is waiting for your degree, even professions that are historically very stable (law, for instance) are presently tanked. The only thing holding up well is healthcare, but if you're still in school, you're more than 3 years away from a neurosurgeon's payscale.

Congratulations on 80. I'm certain some people have had a hard time leveling from 75-80 but abyssea makes it quite easy if you can get a solid group. I went from 75-80 in a single run.

I always go with a full alliance for exp on Pachypodium (or would it be Pachypodios? hah, Latin humor).

I'm dreading apkallu much more than gnoles but I'm sure they'll be annoying as well.

Gnoles were the easiest trial I've done so far.

Biddybugs (Vermin) were far easier for me. I keep hearing about people doing retarded things like chasing down Chigoes and shit, it makes me laugh. Puks and Apkallu were not fun, Birds were tedious (no good camps in Signet/Sigil zones and Abyssea alliances hadn't been developed yet). Gnoles are easy, just hang out near that cul-de-sac in the southwest of Batallia [S] and range back and forth. Undead were kinda obnoxious because there's no outdoor zone for them, so I had to traverse Toraimarai Canal to deal with dungeon respawn timers.

I did bees in Wajaom (there's a good camp with 9 of them right on top of each other). But to be fair, I used my lady friends char for this trial to cure/haste myself instead of subbing DNC, so kill speed wasn't effected by the lack of Sigil bonus.

Gnoles are not troublesome at all once you work out your hunting ground. Even when Plenuline Embrace is healing for 1400 you almost never see it more than once per fight, and a single Tornado Kick is often enough to negate the HP restored. Just with these trials you can easily hit 80, I've soloed about 100k XP after finishing Gnoles last night. I'll be capped and earning merit points before I'm done. (I think I'm a scant 14k from cap @80 as it stands now.) Perfect Counter is also nice as you're doing these. Additional damage from 1-3 counters at roughly crit damage and no penalty.

About no outdoor zones for Undead mobs, you could always give the cointeach mobs in glacier [S] a try. I remember there being about 20 of them grouped round the Nue tower with 3k HP each. I'd have done them myself but there was a full alliance in the eldieme basement when I was on that trial, managed to do it all in 4 hours.

Aren't the undead in Eldieme(S) on a 5min repop? I did some of my first Apoc trial there.
