I am a long-time on-again-off-again player of FFXI. I started a few months after the US PC launch in late February of 2004. I chose to play an Elvaan (7B) Monk from San d'Oria on the Asura server largely because I liked melee classes and my friend who got me into the game had elected to play as a San d'Orian for the national ring, which seemed like a good bonus for matching race to nation at the time. I eventually reached 75 on my original character, named Onorgul, about a year later. Over the years, I have stopped and started playing several times, often for lack of motivation or interest. I have never been exceptionally well-geared but I do maintain one of the most comprehensive guides to Monk. My original character was eventually deleted, but I came back to Alexander to keep my guides up-to-date. In doing so, I took Bard to 75 first, followed by Monk and White Mage. I am presently leveling Ranger to 75.

In terms of other games, I have played World of Warcraft off-and-on since its launch. I have a level 70 Priest named Decelcis and a level 70 Warrior named Archain, both on the Mal'ganis (US) server. I have canceled my subscription until the crowding and hype from Wrath of the Lich King dies down. I have no plans to pick the game back up, but I anticipate I will eventually.

I played Warhammer: Age of Reckoning, but soon lost interest. I had a Magus and Shaman as my primaries.

As to the real person, I have a BA in English from the Ohio State University. This should be apparent in my diction which, much as I might wish I could claim otherwise, is natural to me.

I am happy to answer questions that people may have, especially given the somewhat hostile nature of the open boards. I know I contribute to that from time to time, but it is the difference between public and private communication. My point, though, is that I am ready and willing to answer inquiries.
