Level cap is level 99 now and everyone does abyssea, and there is Emperyian weapons and armor, which is like relic/wythic weapons and AF3 for abyssea. A lot of the game revolves around Abyssea now unfortunately because it's so easy to get xp there (200k xp in an hour on average) and being you can go there at level 30 most people decide to leech and level up fast. Some of the changes are good but they need to change the level requirements for Abyssea and lower the rate of xp, so people will level up like they used to again. It's fun still and cool they raised the level cap but they still got some tweaking to do and revamping to coincide with the cap raise.

You know you'd be surprise how friendly this game can be. If you jump on and say "Hey I'm new to this game is their anyway I could get a linkshell." A lot people will give you offers defiantly if you make it to Jeuno. The game is really fun, they need to even it out a bit now with the level cap being implemented, but I don't see FFXI dying anytime soon. So enjoy yourself, good luck and don't play too much.

I looked up some of the stuff your brother had on here... Maybe he had a crush on someone that was ingame. I dunno some people take this shit too seriously. It's a game I don't even really care what people say online unless I see them in person it doesn't bother me, because I'm already badass and I know it.

The manual attacking was the only thing I liked from FFXIV. Made it feel a lot different from FFXI and was more fun.
