Dear KI mods
Posted 18 Mar 2010
Fuck off with this turning KI into facebook shit. If I want KI to look like facebook, I'll go to fucking facebook. We don't need a status bar on the bottom to know where our friends are. We don't need to know how many new messages we got when it's clearly on the top of the page. We don't need to be like facebook. Please stop it.

"DRG: Discussing ways to enhance the wyvern’s powers and thinking about creating a new type of “Jump” ability."
Enhanced wyverns? New jump ability? Sounds exciting. Thoughts? -

Ugly as hell, but Barrage +1, Ranged acc., Ranged Attack as possible augments.. Barrage/R.acc for a barrage macro? Or R.Acc/Att for new TP/WS legs? Discuss. -
Naruto MMO
Posted 3 Aug 2009
So, I had this idea for a Naruto based MMO, and before I go any further, this is all created by me, and I would prefer any negative comments to stay out of the thread. Positive feedback is welcome, but if you don't like the subject, stop reading and don't post any distasteful criticism, please.
I also want to apologize ahead of time for the incoming wall of text, but here is a layout for the game as I imagine it would be:
Welcome to the Shinobi world! Here you may create, customize and grow with your very own ninja based on the manga and anime series of Naruto and Naruto Shippuuden. Let's begin!
Beginnings
The setting will take place around the same era as Shippuuden, perhaps a little later storyline wise. Many of the same names and faces you see in the manga and anime may appear in storylines and as NPCs.
Your adventure begins after your ninja is created. You can give your ninja a name, gender, customized hair, eye color, height, weight, size and clothing. You may also align your ninja to have 1 elemental affinity from the start, choosing earth, water, fire, wind or lightning. Along the way, you may progress your ninja's ability to use such elements in attacks or jutsu's, or at your discretion, use other forms of combat including taijutsu or genjutsu. Your ninja, with training, can become an expert in any or all fields of ninja combat. The choice is yours to make!
After creating your ninja, you may choose any of the 5 great countries to reside in, the land of fire, the land of wind, the land of rain, the land of grass or the land of lightning. In each country there is a number of hidden villages, one of which is assigned to each country for you to begin in. Ex. If you chose the land of fire, you can begin in Konohagakure. If you chose the land of lightning, you can begin in kumogakure, etc. Once you choose a country and village, you must then chose a clan to belong to, which will determine your last name and heritage in the game.
Now let's get started! You've created your ninja, you've chosen your village, you've picked your clan.. now what?
Game Play
Now that you've created an identity in the game, let's begin getting stronger! Your first mission in the game is to join the ninja academy. When you start off, you begin as a normal person joining the ninja academy to become a ninja. You must undergo basics and learn how to control chakra, mold chakra, and use techniques. Once you complete all of your basic training you must then pass the exams given to you to become a Genin. Once you become a Genin, you are free to do what you want until you are given missions. You can train, complete quests, collect items, etc.
Genin level training: Once you become a Genin, you can undergo many different styles of training. You can either chose to train alone by visiting training facilities, going out into the wild and training by yourself, or group up with friends and train with each other. There are several different methods to training, which will be explained in segments.
Scrolls: Scrolls are found via quests or found on certain enemies, which can teach many different things. Special ninjutsu, taijutsu and genjustu techniques can be found on the scrolls, giving you the ability to learn any techniques found on them, presuming you are strong enough to learn them. But how do you become strong enough? By increasing your chakra or physical strength. But how do I increase those? By training, of course.
The more you undergo physical training, the stronger you become and can learn new taijutsu techniques. Naturally, your chakra will increase, but not as much as using actual ninjutsu techniques. The more and more you use ninjustu, the stronger they become, and the more chakra you can create. You can also find rare scrolls to increase your chakra, which are dropped off enemies or given to you after completed daunting tasks.
Learn, create, use! Jutsus can be taught or developed!
That's right, jutsu can be taught by your instructors, or you can even develop your own jutsus! Customize your ninja by doing so and stand out from the others, become stronger, and protect your village and your friends! But how do I create a jutsu? Well, that can be very difficult... but here goes!
In order to create a jutsu of your own, you must design it by using your affinity. This is the element you chose at the beginning of the game when designing your ninja. We'll begin with an example:
Ishiro: Male, Age 24, Height 5'11", weight, 186 lbs, body build: medium, hair color: black, eye color: black, elemental affinity: wind.
(Note: In the game you have a physical level and chakra level. Your physical level determines how strong a taijutsu ability you can use or develop. It also determines such things as HP, vitality, speed, strength and dexterity. Your chakra level determines your ability to use ninjustu, how strong it will be, how accurate and how many you can use.)
Chakra level: 120
Physical level: 140
Ishiro designs the ninjutsu technique "Fuuton: Kazekiri" (Wind style: Wind Drill)
Developing the technique will require you to determine how strong you wish to make it, you can choose how many chakra points (CP) it requires to create. But beware, you can only create techniques within your chakra level.
We'll start the technique out requiring 50 CP. That means Ishiro can only use the technique twice before exhausting most of his chakra. The same goes for learning techniques. If you find a scroll with say, for example, "Fuuton: Shippuukobushi" (Wind style: Hurricane fist), and it requires 250 CP to use, it's obvious you're not strong enough to use the technique. The same goes for techniques of other elements. If you find a scroll containing "Suiton: Suiryūdan" (Water style: Water dragon bullet) and are of the wind nature, you cannot learn a water style technique.
Also, since each techique you use requires a certain amount of chakra of physical strength to perform, you can increase your ability to use it more, or make it stronger, by using it more and more, or increasing your chakra with scrolls. For a simple technique like the kagebunshin (shadow clone), you start by only being able to create one clone. Each clone requires 10 chakra points (CP). Eventually after using the technique enough you can strengthen it by using more chakra (making it faster and stronger) requiring 20-30 CP. You can also increase your chakra to eventually create up to essentially 100 clones (1000 CP), but remember, using up your chakra can be dangerous. Running out will result in a K.O.! Ex. You have 100 CP, and you use the kagebunshin to create 10 clones (requiring 100CP), you can pass out right after creating all the clones.
Other techniques can be developed such as taijutsu (physical techniques), for example:
Ishiro: Chakra level 120, Physical level 140
Ishiro develops a physical technique called Iwa Ashige "Rock kick".
The technique requires you to have at least 20 PP (Physical points) to perform. Unlike chakra techniques, these don't deplete your physical strength as fast. In fact, it only requires 1/4 of the PP needed to use. That is, of course, unless you are under a "stressed condition". What is a stressed condition? A stressed condition can be any one of the following: Using "gates", using any number of "kekkai genkai" (bloodline limit) abilities, or (much much later in the game) spiritual modes, such as "hermit mode". When undergoing these stressed conditions, the amount of PP used when using taijutsu can either be increased or decreased, depending on the condition.
Genjutsu:
Genjutsus can only be learned via instructor or scroll, and cannot be developed on your own. You can find these by either consulting your teacher or completing difficult missions.
Getting stronger, ranking up!
As you get stronger, and after completing a number of missions for your village, you are allowed to participate in the chuunin and jounin exams held every 3 months (in-game time). Participation will be against other playable characters online in a competition of strength, wit, and technique! Do your best and you can be allowed to rank up to the top!
Increasing your rank allows you many new things. It opens up a vast list of new missions and quests, new armor (upon completing and ranking up, you are given the traditional battle vests as a reward), new scrolls, new weapons and much, much more!
Jounin and beyond.
Now you may think achieving the top rank may be the end of it, what more is there to do besides missions and quests? There are a number of things along the game, before becoming a jounin and after that can interest you. In the game there will be real time events that go on at any given moment. Your village could suddenly be under attack from an enemy, or so could you while on a mission. You can choose a different style of play and join Special Ops forces, which gives you a wide array of new quests and missions to do, as well as deal with reconnaissance work, and a number of other activities. Interact with people of your village and others. Encounter new enemies all the time, fight bosses such as members of Akatsuki and other renegade missing-nin. And beware, even jinchuruuki are hiding among the midst. Encounters with them can be a blessing, or a curse...
The choice you make to mold and shape your very own shinobi rests in your hands.. Take care, young shinobi, and good luck! -
It can be story time nao?
